Looks like the film is scaled but not the subtitles, when going from mkv to mkv.
Tried from mkv to mp4: works ! Takes only 4 times longer

VLC is not scaling the subtitles. It should be able to do so, as the original frame size is contained within the subtitle stream. There is an option in VLC, but it has no effect. HB seems to scale the subtitles. Does HB have an issue with Bluray subtitles ? Is there any option where I could scale t...

Handbrake no longer offers a target file size. Nothing in the Handbrake set up is aimed at a target file size, but instead targets a quality level. Since Handbrake is encoding to fit a quality level some scenes will take more bits, and some less. If you want to target a file size, you need to use t...
