Has some problems using qsv since handbrake 1.x (MFXVideoENCODE_EncodeFrameAsync failed (-17))

Here is the original github-bug-report: https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/issues/660 (currently locked) This is an addition: https://github.com/HandBrake/HandBrake/issues/1482 To current workaround for this issue is to use Handbrake 0.10.5. According to sr55 this seems to be a bug in the intel ...

Re: 80fps with vce_h264 normal?

According to CPU-Z I'm running in dual channel mode. fps are still the same even with --encoder-preset=quality. Here is a comparison of old and new init arguments according to log. arguments in both cases: --input "bbb_sunflower_1080p_60fps_normal.mp4" --output "test.mkv" --encoder qsv_h264 handbrak...

But where can I see the chain?
As you can see I have used a minimum set of arguments.

Re: 80fps with vce_h264 normal?

I used qsv a very long time but as you know according to github 660 this works only with an older version of handbrake.

Same command with qsv_h264 shows an avg of 60fps

Same command with HandBrake-0.10.5-x86_64-Win_CLI (qsv_h264) shows an avg of 145fps.

Re: [Script] convert episodes or main-feature from DVD or BD or convert multiple files (on any os)

You can already add --encoder x265 to your command line.
Meybe this is enough - if not I can add more arguments.

Re: [Script] convert episodes or main-feature from DVD or BD or convert multiple files (on any os)

--xtra is ok to add the gain parameter.
You don't see gain in my arguments because I don't set a value.

You can enable writing the encode log to get the output of handbrake.

Re: [Script] convert episodes or main-feature from DVD or BD or convert multiple files (on any os)

I hope that your drc overrides my default because your value will be added later in command line.
You could try an encode with 0 and another with a very high value and compare the results.
so, what about the GAIN setting? Is there a way to do that in your script?
What do you mean with that?

Re: [Script] convert episodes or main-feature from DVD or BD or convert multiple files (on any os)

drc and gain is part of your command.
The first drc with 0.0 comes as default from my script - the second one is yours.

If you use my script you don't have to care about track numbers - you can select them by duration intervalls.

Re: Will nonexistent source tracks be ignored?

I'm not sure but simply add a non existing track an test it. ;-)

For converting episodes you can also use my script: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=26163

Re: Missing output file name error

But sometimes you have spaces and have to quote the parameters.

Maybe / instead of \ will work too.

Re: Missing output file name error

Try to remove the \ from your input - maybe it's an escaping issue.

Just out of curiosity, does someone use my script together with own scripts?
Maybe I can add those features to my script. :-)

Re: Is there a no clobber option? (do not overwrite file)

You could use a bash script instead of an alias.
Something like this (untested)

Code: Select all

#! /bin/bash

if [ - e "$1" ]; then
   echo "file already exists"
else
   HandBrakeCLI -O -o ~/Desktop/output.mp4 -i "$1"

Re: [Script] rip episodes or main-feature from DVD or BD

i've uploaded a new version.
Some users reported that encoding with hb_rb did not start - reason was that the modification time of the file was in future.
Therefore a warning is now logged, if my script waits for a "future-file". :-)
