Re: HandBrake 0.10.2 Discussion Thread
Not to complain, as new releases and bug fixes are always welcome, and i really do really appreciate all the hard work you guys do in your free time.
But a change/fix log would be nice, as you then can see if a problem should be fixed or not.

Sound problems durring encoding
Have stitched two animation video files together, and they played perfect, but after re-encoding them, she sound is all mangled up. I tried passthru AC3 and MP3 as audio codecs. Is there something i can do to fix this? HandBrake 0.10.1.6962 - 64bit Version OS: Microsoft Windows NT 6.2.9200.0 - 64bit...

Re: X265 what CQ value and settings do you use?
I find for animation a QC setting of 32 and very slow preset working very well for me, for normal video i use QC26 for BR and 24 for grainy sources work well.

Re: X265 what CQ value and settings do you use?
Caveat emptor . Would it not be nice to have a sorta stable update every 2 or 3 months of the X265 engine, i know its a lot of work, but X265 could be so great if it works well, more regular updates would be really welcome. And i have not even be able to reproduce consistent results of th...

Re: X265 what CQ value and settings do you use?
Why is it in there then?
And what i got from the sparse info thats out there about h265, is that the codec switches between 8 and 10bit, depending on the source.

Re: Upscaling 480P to 720P
Actually there is a good reason for the restriction i think, it just was properly just easier to programing it that way, and was also not needed at the time, the option you ask for needs a extra function in the interface, that takes dev. time, and the dev's have also other priorities, things that th...

Re: Upscaling 480P to 720P
Or at least know how to ask nicely, you would have a better chance a dev. more willing to listen to your request.

Re: Upscaling 480P to 720P
actually i think the easiest way is to buy a HDMI recorder, and just let your video card do the up-scaling, they are really good at it. There are many options, but the easiest i think is just to get a HDMI console recorder , Amazon sells what you need from about $75, it cost more then the free optio...

Remove common punctuation
In ''Preferences > Output Files'' you have the option ''[v] Remove common punctuation'' I really like that option, but could the ''Dash'' be excluded or independent option? As i like to have my series names like this ''Series Name - 01'', now this option removes all the wanted dashes also. Cheers Ha...

Re: Auto resume cued items after reboot
So, has this function made it to the to-do-list? From what i understand of programming, this is not that hard to do, at least not compared to the CQ engine. But still some one has to do it, and i am pretty sure its not the only item on the to-do-list. Anyway just asking if it made the list, a...

Yes that's the idea, just restart the last item, and resume cue from there.Rodeo wrote:Is that indeed the feature request?

Re: Make HB single/dual threaded
I gather you want multiple encodes running at the same time; it's a very uncommon need. I am not speaking about my system alone, but whit the new 8 core i7s, i am not anymore in the small group that uses more then 6 cores to there encoding. And i would be just fine with 2 HB processes, one on each ...

Re: Make HB single/dual threaded
Maybe my terminology is off, but i think you still get my the point i am trying to bring across don't you?
Reducing the amount of cores used on a single cued item, and start one or more cued items at the same time, to have most efficient use of CPU power.

Make HB single/dual threaded
To make HB more efficient on multi-core CPUs, would not making HB single, dual, triple or max quad threaded during multiple cued items not be a good idea? Why? From what i understand, the more threads you use, the less efficient HB becomes, and beyond 6 threads it becomes really noticeable, and ther...

Re: Cannot encode with x264 but MPEG4 is fine
I think a better option for you would be to replace the CPU cooler (that is properly a cheap ass Intel or AMD boxed cooler) to for example a Scythe Mugen 4, that is a excellent cooler for its price.

Re: My .mkv dont finish the conversion
Thanks, but those are pretty old threads. Also, I think this issue should be fixed for most files (remux probably unnecessary). I just used those links to fix a mp4 file that would not finish, that's why i posted them, so others don't have to be looking and finding out what they need. The do...

Auto resume cued items after reboot
Could it be possible to have HB auto resume cued items after a restart of the program with a active cue file? Maybe with a check box in the options. How it work now. If the HandBreak encoding cue is interrupted(*), and HB is started again, it ask if it has to resume the cue, and waits on user imput....
