Re: [Implemented] h265 support

Well that is cool now H265 support also added. I've run my regular test too and noticed in quality no difference, but encoding took an hour longer, which otherwise takes only 9 minutes. File size is about the same. I'll later test with Bluray also, it was just DVD. Are the new Intel CPUs will receiv...

Re: Next stable version release?

And how do I know when was a brand new code being bedded in? But seriously if nighty versions are so stable, why is not coming more often stable new versions? I noticed the nighty versions using better my CPU and about 10-15% faster than 0.99.

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

I see, than 15% is nice improvement from "performance and setting tweaks" and unfortunately nothing extra from OpenCL at least for me because I'm not doing down-scaling. I thought the OpenCl look-ahead patch will work in non down scaling situations too.

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

I've just run my regular Dallas tests (no down scaling) to see how it performs on different platforms. Unfortunately I could not use svn5938 nighty build for both OpenCl and non-OpenCl tests, since it does not have OpenCL switch anymore (I guess it runs default with OpenCL acceleration) and I compar...

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

Thanks for the update, I will run some benchmarks to see how is working with AMD APU and Intel processor. I think 5-6% also better than nothing, but back than I was hoping much more performance increase.

Re: New QSV beta - QSV preset removed?

Where can I pick the "file size" option?

Under optimize video:

QSV preset: I have only "Best speed" and "Balanced" options.

Other question, how could I set default .mkv extension because always tiring me with mp4...?

Re: New QSV beta - QSV preset removed?

I had QSV button also missing and acceleration did not worked. To fix the problem I uninstalled both my graphics driver (HD4000 and Radeon 8750M) and re installed only HD4000 driver. Now I have QSV preset button and the acceleration is working. The speed boost is very impressive! What took 12minutes...

Re: OpenCL GPU support in svn5466

Ok, thanks for the updates. Then look like ain't worth to wait more for these accelerated versions, OpenCL is nothing, Quiksinc cause quality loose (for me even slowed things down). How about the AMD's UVD accelerator, is that also just a algorithm change trick?

Re: OpenCL GPU support in svn5466

But there were improvements using OpenCL acceleration, especially combining with AMD's UVD acceleration. According to my last test run https://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?p=124739#p124739 , I've measured more than a minute difference than without turning the features on. And that 5418 #5 build ...

What happened with the OpenCL topic and the ???

I've used to visit here an OpenCl topic, reading and testing the most recent OpenCL news, builds, posting benchmarks with various hardware, track the improvements. Why all these gone? The most recent builds are also disappeared, only 6 weeks old OpenCl version or Quicksink.

Re: OpenCL Nightly Builds

Ohh, that is too bad if x264 OpenCL patch is not coming yet, I've expected very much! Does that really have to support all today's laptop? I mean there was Winzip which first only supported AMD APUs with OpenCL acceleration, than later a newer version came with more supported hardwares. Meanwhile I ...
