Re: Why has the advanced tab been removed completely?
Well, I'm back to the older version. Most of these arguments are very silly as they presume to know the intent of every user. I personally don't care about speed but quality. Encode once, play many. I don't care I set my settings at extremely insane slow speed if I eek out 1% compression. How can an...

Re: BFrames, setting in general.
Well, it looks like I'll keep the 10 BFrames. :) As I'm seeing pretty much the same #s. Thanks. I'll continue to monitor from time to time. The series that I'm recording now are B&W which may account for the higher consecutive frames. x264 [info]: consecutive B-frames: 0.5% 0.3% 0.3% 4.3% 8.4% 3...

Fantastic! That sounds like a great idea. I'll examine the log immediately.
Thanks very much!

Re: BFrames, setting in general.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it does take a long time but that's not important to me. As I am only ripping my own DVDs and being disabled I have quite a bit of time. I did read the note on H264 and a few WIKIs lately on the different frames, as well as some of Handbrake's users preferred settin...

Idea requests ( GUI enhancements )
First, sorry if some of these were already suggested. I saw one similar to what I'm going to suggest but not quite the same. Some 'nice' things I'd like to have are: 1. Hot keys for moving items up and down in the queue. Actually, I've downloaded the code and added them for myself on a local build. ...

BFrames, setting in general.
First off, I'm extremely pleased with my experiences with Handbrake. I have two SamDung TVs (ES6500 and EH5300) that play very well using Serviio. As Samsung's AllPlay server doesn't find files that have Windows compression turned on. :( While I'm happy with the settings that I have chosen, and ever...

Re: Mini PC with resolution 1024*600..?
Removed my answer of yes, but. You can modify the code yourself but don't expect all of the screens to display properly. Like missing options... I'm doing this to debug a problem with the code and I thought it was okay until I went to make a selection. lol

Re: Contributing to HandBrake
Well, I'm tempted. I haven't done development for a few years since becoming disabled and never open source. I don't IRC and I'm not familiar with SVN but I am familar with Windows Visual Studio and C#. I've been reviewing the code the past few days looking for at a bug. If I can manage to identify ...

Re: Queue edit problems
I'll take a look at the current code before trying a nightly build. Looking at the code I found this entry. I'm quite familiar with "TODO"s as I liter my code with them quite often. :) Thanks. // Reset this.currentlySelectedPreset = null; x264Panel.Reset2Defaults(); // Scan queueEdit = job...

Re: Queue edit problems
Sorry. I'm usually more 'with it' when writing tickets. I'm using the latest release I believe, version 0.9.8. 20012071700. Even though I've down loaded the code and compiled the GUI in response to the problem, I'm not sure that I want to spend the time learning it. As a former developer I'd like to...

Re: Queue edit problems
A correction to my post. The file name doesn't change until I change the chapters back to the correct ones. At that time the name of the output file is changed.

Queue edit problems
I'll apologize in advance if this has been mentioned but I couldn't find these bugs listed. From the Windows Queue list, if I edit an task when the information is updated in the main window it is wrong. For example, I'm trying to select chapters 1-3 out of 13 chapters but the information is reset, a...
