I usually encode with the 6 channel discreet for the PS3 - and it won't stay there, so even when using custom presets I have to remember to change the audio selection each time I set up a new title. It would really help if there was a way to lock it in as the general default.
Thanks

Re: Ripping for PS3 2.10/2.17
Have you tried the 6 channel discreet setting in HB? I generally use the PS3 setting, and then switch the audio to 6 channel discrete. I really wish there was a way to make it stay that way so I didn't have to change it for every encode.

You may want to search the intertubes for MKV2VOB - may meet some of your needs.

Re: The PS3, PSP experience!
Something for this thread that I noticed - just my first take, so PLEASE do not regard as gospel: The PSP Preset should be updated (or supplemented) to reflect PSP firmware upgrades, which now permits the use of the h.264 (level=3) codec and also permits full use of the screen at 480 x 272 resolutio...

Re: Reading MPEG files without title info
You may want to google around for hdtv2mpg, HD Patch and/or mpg2 repair. These handy little programs can be used to cleanup a TS stream so that it behaves like and mpeg - no reencoding, just headers, flags and stuff.

Re: Mac Pro Penryn 8 core 2.8 Ghz 2 GB Ram
Hi - I just got one of the new Mac Pros - I was previously a Windows guy, and I am just blown away by how much better the Mac version of HB is (it goes without saying the MacPro is screaming fast). Not only does it not crash all the time, but the options are just better organized - and the 6 channel...

Are you sure you didn't change the format or codecs? I convert videos fine, though I don't always use the psp preset. I am far from an expert, but this is what I do: 1) Select the PSP Preset 2) Change the size to 480 by 256 (or other based on ratio) 3) Ensure that H.264 is selected as the output co...

Apparently the PS3 can only do two channel stereo from the XMB - as opposed to from the optical drive where it can do all kinds of HD Audio goodness. Something to lobby Sony for - they've already upgraded the firmware quite a bit, so we can hope. **UPDATE** This may not be the case (any longer?)- if...
