I seem to be having a problem with any widescreen content I convert in Handbrake using the Intel QSV encoder. Any way of using Quick Sync as a decoder only and leaving the encoder as software? I have another program which allows this and it works fast while retaining video quality.

Quick Sync is great if you use it on the decoding side only, and leave the encoding to software. I have a program lets me do this and I get 30-50% more speed on my encodes than Handbrake, but still get to within 90% of the quality of HB.
