If you ever have multiple encodings, then best option would be, to run multiple encodes at once.
that was my alternative and use Window's "processor affinity" to assign CPUs to the encoder. Thanks

I have a dual Xeon setup with 28 cores in total. How do I use all the cores (that is 100% CPU usage) to encode 1 video?

as above.

When I checked Task Manager, the CPU usage is ranging 25-30%.
  • Is the question above possible in Windows?
  • How about another OS like Linux?
Thanks

Are presets transferrable across OSes?

I created using Handbrake windows. The preset has deinterlace filter enabled. When I loaded this new preset into my Mac and loaded the same source video, the deinterlace settings are not enabled.

Re: Is there a file/folder I can save so I can easily transfer preferences from 1 Mac to another?

It should be the correct file, yes. Custom presets are in ~/Library/Containers/fr.handbrake.HandBrake/Data/Library/Application\ Support/HandBrake/UserPresets.json but there is already an import/export function for presets in the app. Hi Rodeo, I'm not talking about presets. But the preferences chan...

So I was trying Ubuntu 18.04 and installed handbrake as it's one app I use often. The package is avaiable in the official 18.04 repo. I have also used Stebbins' version on 16.04. open multiple files by specifying folder

Hello. I'm currently on Windows 10 and I really really like the ability to open multiple videos when specifying a folder.

Is there a way to get something similar when using Linux? I installed 1.0.7 from the repo (not using Ubuntu here) and the feature is not available.

Thanks!
