Are presets transferrable across OSes?

I created using Handbrake windows. The preset has deinterlace filter enabled. When I loaded this new preset into my Mac and loaded the same source video, the deinterlace settings are not enabled.

Thanks

Re: Is there a file/folder I can save so I can easily transfer preferences from 1 Mac to another?

It should be the correct file, yes. Custom presets are in ~/Library/Containers/fr.handbrake.HandBrake/Data/Library/Application\ Support/HandBrake/UserPresets.json but there is already an import/export function for presets in the app. Hi Rodeo, I'm not talking about presets. But the preferences chan...

Is there a file/folder I can save so I can easily transfer preferences from 1 Mac to another?

as above.

I found "~/Library/Containers/fr.handbrake.HandBrake/Data/Library/Preferences/fr.handbrake.HandBrake.plist" but I'm unsure if this is the right file.

Handbrake from official Ubuntu 18.04 distro vs Stebbins PPA

So I was trying Ubuntu 18.04 and installed handbrake as it's one app I use often. The package is avaiable in the official 18.04 repo. I have also used Stebbins' version on 16.04. I noticed that on 18.04, the embedded subtitles on the MKV file does not show. While it's all working on Stebbins' versio...

open multiple files by specifying folder

Hello. I'm currently on Windows 10 and I really really like the ability to open multiple videos when specifying a folder.

Is there a way to get something similar when using Linux? I installed 1.0.7 from the repo (not using Ubuntu here) and the feature is not available.

Thanks!

I am using a custom preset. But in any case, I never close handbrake in my testing so the settings should stick?

using handbrake 0.9.5/8 - no visible streams error :/

I installed libdvdcss using this post: https://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=23301. I have confirmed it is installed using the command mentioned in the post. This wasn't working so I downloaded vlc 1.1.8/9 and copied it to my Applications folder. This also doesn't work. It works for some DV...
