Re: Resizing

Yes it's squashed when viewing with no adjustment. It would be 16:9 when expanded horizontally. I'm still hoping there's some way to get the current dimension (which I think HB shows) and calculate the HB setting that would expand it. Does anyone know if this is possible? If not, it'll be trial and ...

Re: Resizing

I had been using the TVs zoom control but I'm pretty sure you lose a bit from each edge i.e. it does not fill perfectly.
The source was recorded in a mode that 'squashes' the content horizontally and my hope was to correct this with HB.
It may, or it may keep the squashed aspect, just bigger.

Re: Resizing

I expected the resolution to be 1920x1080, but on consulting the manual its 3840x2160
I'm ignoring the aspect ratio initially, just wanting the Handbrake dimension settings that fill the screen.

Re: Resizing

Thank you I've just downloaded 1.41.
Is there any formulae to determine what upscale settings to use (to fill TV screen)?

Resizing

I have a video recorded in EP mode and want to resize it so it fills the screen.
Handbrakes "Dimension" setting is 352 x 288. If I try and change this it reverts back to that size.
Can I get around this anyhow and what would be optimum size ?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Using Handbrake 0.10.5.0 64bit

I read the header but figured it must be wrong as the sub topic was General discussion of HandBrake, Video and/or audio transcoding, trends etc. So to say not related to Handbrake is kind of contradictory. Anyway, thanks for the replies, much appreciated/understood. I'll upgrade my version and have ...

Using Handbrake 0.10.5.0 64bit

Sorry if this has been asked 1000 time, i have spent a few days Googling but not really found the optimum compression settings. I read it can cut down on file size by as much as 80% without noticeable degradation. My results are 45min file was 2.6GB and it reduced to 1.7. But I see similar duration ...

Re: Target Size

Hi SC, I'm confused. Most ppl there asking where it went and could it be restored Then you get " you seem to use Target File Size a way a lot of other people do: as a way to ensure your files don't exceed a certain size. But what you and everyone else don't seem to grasp is that while you will ...

Re: Target Size

Very disappointed to find the Rotate function crops the top and bottom of the image so it becomes useless. Is the...

Target Size

Hi,

http://mediacommons.psu.edu/2013/04/usi ... rget-size/

Is this legit ? My handbrake looks nothing like this. I upgraded to v 99 to get the 'Target Size' option shown above under the Video tab
but it isn't there! Or am I in the wrong place ?

Thanks

Decomb Options

Major thanks and heads up to all the developers. I have not attached an activity log as my question is too newbie (generic) and apologies if I've posted to the wrong forum. From reading I understand 'Decomb' is the optimum Video filter and can be left on for everything. How do you keep it 'on'? Each...
