Re: Encoding source using default profile results in correct title time length, but MKV is wrong
I agree, a remux to MKV would give me the final solution but the problem is damn odd. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll pull out my old standby for Handbrake and re-encode from source. Being DVD versus BD it doesn't take but 20 mins a title. Hope someone identifies root cause and a long term soluti...

Encoding source using default profile results in correct title time length, but MKV is wrong
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible: Using either 46e641c or 6b713ad x86_64 on specific source and "High Profile" results with different time lengths when using MP4 versus MKV. MP4 time length is correct. It reproducible 100% for all titles on DVD. It is a set of thr...

Re: 0.10.2-810 DTS/HD 5.1 to FLAC encode with mixdown "none" results in 2 Channel Audio
If I understood you correctly, I need to specify 5.1 channels for "none" isn't meant to an available option?
I would kindly request that the default value of the mixdown channels to encode be equal to the source channels. Do you need a separate post for the feature request?
Thank you.

0.10.2-810 DTS/HD 5.1 to FLAC encode with mixdown "none" results in 2 Channel Audio
Please describe the problem in as much detail as possible: When encoding a DTS/DTS HD 5.1 source and selecting FLAC 24 bit with mixdown "none," the resulting encode is two channel/stereo. Log shows "mixdown: Dolby Pro Logic II." Container is MKV. Assumption is when using a X cha...

Re: Windows 64 bit GUI Nightly Download Broken? Feb 22/23 svn6935
The problem persisted until this evening. Four to six hours ago, I attempted to download svn6941 to have really slow download and executing the download reported corruption.
It is working as of the last ten minutes. Weird. I have no idea as to the root cause but it working now.

Re: 6765 & 6775 Crashes on selecting second source
Fixed!
I have been pulling down the nightlies every couple of days, and as of svn 6822, I can now select and scan a second source without handbrake crashing/freezing.
Thank you!

Re: 6765 & 6775 Crashes on selecting second source
All sources scan without issue as long as I do one at a time, add job to queue, exit Handbrake, start Handbrake, scan next source, add job to queue, .. repeat. Examples: http://pastebin.com/w0XTBfiU http://pastebin.com/NiWqkgwn The above encoded without issue. I appreciate the quick response. I am g...

Re: 6765 & 6775 Crashes on selecting second source
Symptom persists with svn 6782.
I saw the "quick fix" for svn6775 for batch jobs. It did change the symptom, slightly, as described above but it is still broken.

Re: Queue Not Starting Next title
Problems persist. Error occurred in my current queued jobs three time out of eight or nine jobs with APM for the display enabled. Disabling APM. I agree it is probably coincidental.
Again, what more can I do other then continue to report I am having the issue? Is there a better thread to participate?

Re: Queue Not Starting Next title
S55 can you provide guidance on how I would provide a sample? I have the original media as well as the unencrypted source that was used. My only concern is the source does not consistently result in the error. In fact, I have exported the queue to repeatedly encode with jobs that hadn't resulted in ...

Re: Queue Not Starting Next title
Not disagreeing s55. It may just be coincidence that I didn't see it for several weeks without APM then saw it immediately after enabling it.
Is there anything I can do further to assist in identifying root cause?
I want to help!

Re: Queue Not Starting Next title
ddf200, understood and I have reproduced it! So, I have now verified power management does produce the symptom on my system. It does not do it for every job in queue. In fact, I cannot see any pattern outside of that when processing a job and after the display is powered off, eventually the error is...

Re: Queue Not Starting Next title
DDF200, In my case, the hypothesis that the APM and turning off the display does not appears to be related. Ran a queue with two jobs, of which was previously exported after aforementioned fault with the first encode, and was unable to reproduce the error with the monitor off for both encodes. I wil...

Re: Queue Not Starting Next title
DDF200, I, too, am experiencing problems with svn5891 and svn5893 after upgrading from svn5864. I am working now to capture a level 2 verbose log--silly me thought level 0 was most verbose. However, below is a level 1 log. I receive on my Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit box an error stating 'Handbrake not...

Musicvid, thank you very much. No matter how long I do this stuff, I am always learning something new. Working with you has been an education and I appreciate you sharing your time and knowledge with me. My take away from this is to reduce b/ref frames 3(?) and to test if I can perceive a difference...

Re: Video Jitter During Playback; source BD
Your fping batch resulted with the following, however, remember that layer 3 not even used between HT and NAS for I am using a layer2/3 switch and both nodes are in the same VLAN. I suppose it does provide a performance comparison point for you, right? So useful? 192.168.24.254 is inside router atta...

Re: Video Jitter During Playback; source BD
I will encode at RF20 as you suggested to see if the problem dissipates. If you don't mind, how do I use Mediainfo to determine max bitrate? Not used it before so installed but not finding instructions after a ten minute Google hunt. It did give an overall bitrate of 10.9. I suspect overall = averag...

Re: Video Jitter During Playback; source BD
My most recent testing did reproduce the problem, however, it was inconsistent. Using iperf, from the HT to the NAS, I got ~52.5 MB/sec. Disappointing but it is an Qualcomm Atheros AR8151 NIC. Tested with VLC; jitter reproduced, however, intermittent. Play back at jitter was under 12 Mb/sec. Tested ...

Re: Video Jitter During Playback; source BD
No, I am not using DLNA nor WIFI. I know too well the headaches that result potentially from both. I like your batch file. There is no layer 3 involved, however, I will use your batch file to validate layer 2 throughput. The HT and NAS (FreeNAS) are both in the same VLAN and connected to the same ac...

Re: Video Jitter During Playback; source BD
I am using xbmc, primarily, on an Intel i5 w/Geforce. Audio decoding is done by the receiver.
Not a bitrate issue, however, your other suggestions need to be investigated. Thank you for the suggestions.
What is the concern with "so many b-frames?" Please clarify.
Thank you!

Video Jitter During Playback; source BD
Need some assistance. I am a long timer user of Handbrake nighties. I am experiencing a relatively recent development, sixty to ninety days, of my media files from BD source resulting in an approx. two to three seconds, video jittering during playback. It generally only occurs once or twice per movi...
