Re: Not doing 2 pass encoding and subtitle issues
If you don't have 2 pass enabled on the video tab, then you are always doing 1-pass video and maybe 1 pass scanning for subtitles. The subtitle scan pass only looks for subtitles where actors are speaking a foreign language. It does not alter video quality in anyway. Having looked at your log file, ...

Re: Handbrake doesn't remember the source folder after today's packages update
Given HandBrake wasn't updated, either GTK updates introduced a bug, or introduced an incompatibility. It's not uncommon. Sometimes it's fixed in future updates, sometimes we need to make code changes for it. On the other point: ARCH AUR was historically hostile towards HandBrake, shipping modified ...

Re: Not doing 2 pass encoding and subtitle issues
Couple of quick points. 1. Forced is a type of subtitle. If your subtitles do not include forced subtitles, nothing will appear. This is correct behaviour. 2. Foreign Audio "Scan" requires an additional pass. This is NOT 2-pass encoding. 3. 2-Pass encoding can be activated on the video tab...

Re: Source = Folder (Batch Scan)
When using batch scan, files are treated as "titles" similar to how DVD's work. Make sure before you press start, you "Add All" to queue. There is an option for it in the dropdown. Jobs in the queue are immutable, so you configure first, then add. If all the jobs have the same co...

Re: Handbrake crashes while using Libmmbd from Makemkv
It's never been formally supported and has been known to cause various different problems with folks trying it. If you want to try, knock yourself out but it's not something we are going to support you with or fix the various issues that you'll likely nor or eventually run into.

Use MakeMKV, then HandBrake. Don't try to make their libraries work with HandBrake.

Not unless Intel supports it and I doubt that's likely. None of the hardware encoders do.
Best using quality mode instead.

You can link but not post screenshots on this forum. (Embedded content is blocked for security reasons)
The link to the screenshot shows the GPU Encoder being used. The CPU activity is decode, filters, a/v sync, engine, audio encoding etc. All the stuff that doesn't run on the ASIC basically.

Re: Handbrake for Android
HandBrake isn't a business, it's a hobby. So it doesn't matter if we have 1 user or 1 million users at the end of the day. If folks find it useful, that's great. If they don't, plenty of different tools and apps around that can be good alternatives. Ultimately, being a hobby, it needs developer inte...

Re: Handbrake for Android
Nope, there are no plans. While it's easy enough to compile the engine for ARM platforms (potentially with only minor modifications) i'd require building an entirely new UI. Nothing that, HandBrake can run on Windows ARM devices powered by Qualcomm 8cx. That said, in a tablet environment, your heavi...

The resolution is beyond the maximum allowed of 4096x4096
You'd need to use teh H.265/HEVC encoder for this particular resolution unless you downscale it.

Re: Handbrake cpu clock multiplier
Intel CPU's will clock lower when AVX instructions are used. This is the correct behaviour. Some motherboards have this as a septate AVX Offset feature. Some don't I wouldn't recommend adjusting it. IT's offset for a reason. AVX instructions are complex and have a high power utilisation, thus heat o...

Re: HandBrake Nightly
We don't formally support Windows 7 anymore. It will still open but you'll get a warning prompt that it's operating in an unsupported fashion and you may run into problems that you won't be able to get help with. This message appears twice then won't show again. So, consider it a "Soft" no...

Re: Job Queue with Pauses
minoush82, setting a pause won't help with cooling problems. A fully loaded CPU will saturate, sometimes within second, if not a low number of minutes on marginal cooling so the pauses are indifferent. Going though heat and cool cycles may actually be worse for the processor as your putting a differ...

Re: Handbrake no longer works after Win10 update
If the same file works on one, but not the other, then your likely having some kind of filesystem level IO issue. It's fairly unlikely that Windows is causing HandBrake to behave differently here.

Re: High CPU usage, low GPU 1650 usage
We don't support it for Nvidia. Hardware decoding in general proved to be too unreliable to support. With your system, you'd still end up bottlenecking the card regardless. as A/V Sync processing, audio, any filtering is all done on the CPU and the pipeline going through system memory would bottlene...

Re: High CPU usage, low GPU 1650 usage
Your CPU is heavily bottlenecking the GPU. This is expected for your setup. Remember, only video encoding here is on the GPU. everything else is bound by the slow CPU.
If you don't need it, turn off Decomb on the filters tab. That'll gain you a few extra fps.

Re: Intel QuickSync/Nvidia NVENC Encoders not selectable
Assuming they've not released another busted driver (they do from time to time), the only other thing I can think of is you got a "SafeMode" version from Github or some site other than HandBrake.fr where it's not compiled with nvenc support.

Re: Intel QuickSync/Nvidia NVENC Encoders not selectable
1. Intel QuickSync requires Intel onboard graphics to be enabled. It's not on your system. Likely disabled in the BIOS.
2. For nvenc, make sure it's enabled in preferences -> video.

The UI is simply showing a few invalid options and opus appears to be sanitising to the nearest valid option.

Please report it to Nvidia.
There are options in the Nvidia control panel to disable Gsync for specific applications that you can also set to avoid this in the mean time.
