Re: Use of Nvidia GPU

I'll just lift my answer from Github here as well: Probably something like a GTX1030 would be a good bet. In theory, as long as you've got an up-to-date Nividia driver running with your kernel it should work. That said, we've done zero testing of this on Linux and won't be doing so, so your mileage ...

Re: Handbrake freezes at start of converting

If your PC is freezing, then your PC has a fault that you need to fix.

Not uncommon to see Overheating, Bad Powersuppys that misbehave under load, Memory errors (often caused by XMP being turned on and not configured correctly in the bios).

Re: Handbrake gives errors when starting.

A file in the installation has gone missing or has become corrupted. So you'd need to re-install.

You should however upgrade as your currently using a version that hasn't been supported in a few years.

Re: HandBrake does not run

Topic Split.

First, the Paths in the error are irrelevant. That's just a stack trace of information generated during the application build on our servers. It doesn't affect runtime usage.

Second, the install is missing files, so you'll need to completely remove it and re-install

Short answer: This isn't possible with HandBrake. You'd need to use more advanced tools that do support this kind of thing.

IIRC, neither mac or Linux do this. Edit: I stand corrected. Both do. Must be my bad memory. Re: Mediainfo shows encoded file as VFR, when CFR is selected for 59.940 fps

I don't use Vegas myself so can't really comment. I do know we have a fairly modest group of users using it. Some linger on the forums but you might get a better response on the Vegas forums. I'm assuming the only reason your converting is to get CFR? Otherwise H.264 -> H.264 is adding an unnecessar...

Re: No valid source or titles found

Sorry, but we don't support the use of libdvdcss. It causes too many problems, and depending on where you download it from either won't work at all, or will crash out HandBrake.

In this instance, it's not working correctly. Most folks use tools such as MakeMKV

Re: Mediainfo shows encoded file as VFR, when CFR is selected for 59.940 fps

Media Info has known issues with mis-detecting this with HandBrake content due to the 90khz timebase we use. There is a small jitter that can occur that confuses it.

Have a read of: https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.1.0/adva ... itles.html

With MP4 files, PGS subtitles are not supported so your only option is to convert them to TEXT with OCR software, or burn them into the file.

Re: How to get Handbrake onto a QNAP NAS

HandBrake doesn't officially support ARM devices yet. While technically possible to get it to run with a fair amount of hacking, you'd be on your own figuring it out. There is a compile guide here: https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.1.0/developer/install-dependencies-ubuntu.html but you'll also have pro...

Re: Will handbrake work on a WINDOWS-BASED Tablet?

Anything with an Intel Atom should be considered a non-starter. Many won't be compatible, those that are will be too slow.

Something like a Microsoft Surface (core i7) can run HandBrake but it still wouldn't be recommended.

Re: Intel Quick Sync

It's an experimental feature so is only accessible when you compile from source with --enable-qsv and you have the MediaSDK-2018-Q2.1 pack installed. Note, Debian kernel may also be too old to support this feature if they've not updated it recently. So that may need a manual upgrade too. It's just a...

Couple points:
1, chapter markers don't appear to be in a format HandBrake supports.
2, that encode failed due to being out of disk space or exceeding a quota.

Re: HandBrake Stuck After Update To 1.1.1

Nope. HandBrake dropped libdvdcss about a decade ago. (Which I'm guessing you might have had before) While it's technically possible to install it, it's not recommended or officially supported by us. Mostly because failure rates are pretty high when using it as it doesn't deal with anything but CSS ...

This error is not related to HandBrake, but a corrupted file on your system.

I'd maybe recommend running the Microsoft .NET Framework repair tool and see if that helps, if not, a google search might turn up better suggestions.

Your running an older driver with known issues, so first step is to upgrade that to the latest version from the Intel Site.
