Ignore that error. It's irrelevant.

It failed to be write to the output directory, so likely permissions.

Re: Can someone talk me through doing more than one file

The destination is to a file, not a path. Setting it to a path is invalid.

Every time you change title, or select a new source, it generates a full path and filename for you if you have auto-named turned on.

It would only work properly when there isn't API changes required. You've also got to consider that it's development code and not officially released so there may well be bugs as well. Either way, this isn't supported, sorry. We'll likely upgrade to x265 2.8 in the next couple of months when it's fo...

Not unexpected. HandBrake ships with x265 2.6, not 2.7
2.7 is not supported yet. You can't just swap a library out and expect it to work. It requires API updates.

Re: Virus Detected In HandBrake Nightly Build.

That's an extremely old nightly build your running there. We've seen a lot of false positives with the uninstaller executable. Unfortunately there isn't much we can do about it. As soon as we submit for analysis there is a new nightly out and a good chance it'll fail the same reason, or in the near ...

Re: x265 actual libraries...

https://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=34068 Still applies. I'd also note, the release 2.7 does not contain this. Only development builds do. We only use official releases of x265. I would suspect unless they find any problems, x265 2.8 will contain these and we'll probably upgrade sometime...

Re: Can someone talk me through doing more than one file

Have a read through https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.1.0/advanced/queue.html and see if it helps.

Unfortunately we can't offer phone or email support. HandBrake is a hobby project for us, not a business so there is no true support staff.

Re: iMac i7 2017 heats up considerably during processing

Apple do tend to run their machines close to thermal limits. Make sure it's in a cool room, the fan vent is clear of dust etc.

Other than that, not much you can do about it without opening it which would void the warranty. Video encoding is an intensive process so will generate a lot of heat.

Re: HandBrake file is now bigger that original WHY?

Your source is already compressed. When you encode, you must first decompress/decode the source video into very large YUV420 frames. You then re-encoded those at a higher quality setting. So in effect, you told HandBrake to use less compression. Change the Quality slider to something more reasonable ...

Re: Application Crashes with 1.1.0

Not actually solved. The nightly he's using is 1.1.0. So, HandBrake crashing will lilley be because he's using a chip that supports AVX-512. We've put in a fix for that which should prevent HandBrake crashing. The BSOD however, if it's caused by that, then there is a kernel level bug here in Windows...

Re: Unable to select output file

I'm confused. "Send File to" is to invoke another application and pass the destination path as an argument to it. That's how it's always worked.

The destination filename is still editable if that's what you mean?

Otherwise, 1.0.7 will continue to run. It's just not supported anymore.

Re: Application Crashes with 1.1.0

If your seeing a Blue screen the most common causes are: 1. Overheating 2. If there is any overclock, turn it off. (That includes XMP on memory). 3. Bad Drivers. Make sure they are all up-to-date. 4. Bad Power Suppl 5. Bad Memory -> Run MemText86 for a few full passes. HandBrake works really well at...

Re: Handbrake 1.1.0. bit version

Yes, it's only 64bit. - Lack of memory on 32bit systems and increasing system requirements exacerbating the problem of our of memory errors. - It takes time and effort to maintain the 32bit builds. We do this in our free time. 32bit builds haven't been maintained for some time - Greatly decreased ma...

Re: HandBrake 1.1.0 Discussion Thread

HandBrake does still support multiple instances. On windows, if you launch a 2nd instance, press No when prompted to recover and you'll get a second unique queue file. Mac, while sharing a file, should be able to have 2 processes share it without overwrite.

Re: Mysterious copy protection from 2006 (?!)

Trying to encode DVD's directly with HandBrake hasn't been a good idea for years. Your better off using a tool like MakeMKV to take the raw data of the DVD into a mkv file, then compressing that with HandBrake. Better yet, editing the Raw Mpeg2 if your editor supports it rather than using HandBrake ...

Re: Handbrake 1.1.0. bit version

Several reasons. 1. HandBrake doesn't use x264.exe command line. It uses the API so any API between versions (such as those that happened recently) mean you can't just drop in a newer dll and have it "just work". it requires updates. 2. HandBrake uses specific versions of libraries at a given point ...

Re: Handbrake Windows 32bit Installer

Deprecated doesn't mean removed. It means we only offered limited support for it, and no fixes if anything went wrong with it.

1.1.0 will not be released in 32bit. 1.0.7 will continue to work but is no longer supported.
