As a work around you could download the deb's from the Oneiric PPA and install them manually... worked for me. https://launchpad.net/~stebbins/+archive/handbrake-snapshots/+files/handbrake-gtk_4543svnppa1~oneiric1_amd64.deb Haven't done an encode yet to see if there's any issues however the GUI load...
