Windows Media Player can play MKVs and MP4.

You need to download the appropriate codecs: http://www.cccp-project.net

Or, you can download VLC which has all the codecs built in.

- MKV for all sources I never intend to playback on a phone or tablet, no need for MP4. If I'm going portable, I'll bring a laptop. MKV plays back fine on tablets and phones these days. No worries about platform compatibility. In fact, playback is comparable to a laptop... no need to lug such an ar...

I miss the target size option too; it was a quick way of estimating the output size of the video.

Instead of putting back the target size box, perhaps a label indicating the predicated output size would be a good alternative?
