Handbrake .9.4xxx - Convert from MKV Framerate Issue

I had read somewhere on here a while ago about Handbrake having issues properly converting frame rates from mkv source files tp m4v/mp4 files. It was suggested at the time to select 24fps (or whatever) from "Same as Source". Does anyone know if this issue has been fixed since? I'm asking b...

[0.9.4] Issue Transferring Presets from Mac to Windows

Don't know if this is a bug or not. I have tried to export my presets on my Mac SL.1 to Win7x64 using 0.9.4 on each. When trying to import the plist in Win7, I get an error with these details...[code]See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dia...

Re: [Invalid] [SVN 2263] Incorrect Framerate

Have a look at van's post in this topic . Thanks for the redirect. I love this program and can't wait for the next final release (obviously since I'm using the SVN). I just hope it's spelled out in the final release that we need to start specifying FPS on all encodes from this point forward or we'l...

Re: [Invalid] [SVN 2263] Incorrect Framerate

I don't know about rodeo, but the reason I started this thread was because after using the tv preset on many different .mkv files, I have just recently started seeing the issue reported. Up until now all of the re-encodes I have done have worked fine on my tv without ever having to change <same a...

Re: iPhone 1.1.3 Testing

Well I'll be damned! - - I just did a test encode with a Star Wars DVD and was able to sync an anamorphic Main profile test to my 1.1.3 iPhone, no joke. Just FYI.

Re: frame rate jitters

Try setting the fps to 29.97. This is not so much a bug, as the way HandBrake works. It doesn't know what material that's 29.976 can be pulled down to 23.976, so it has to assume it all can. So "Same as source" really means "perform 3:2 pulldown". This is confusing, admittedly. ...

I'm glad I can help It's the technique I've been using...but I can't lay full claim to it. I got the idea from an article on Macworld for making films "network ready" Whereby you passthrough the audio and video and setup the streaming prefs so that Front Row will stream the movies properly...

Easy Peasy

Do like the Copy and Paste method, only don't export for iPod. Export for h.264 or MPEG4. Then, under the video settings, where you select the codec, select Pass Through. The Audio will need to be re-encoded, but it will come out perfectly. Click OK and save. It'll take far less time than the iPod o...
