Re: Forced Subtitles (Foreign Audio Search) Help!

I had the same problem with Star Wars ep. 2. Theres a seperate subtitle file; the second English file in the list that houses the non-English subtitles, so Foreign search won't detect it. I had to select that subtitle, then check default for them to show up on any player. Try encoding a preview with...

Ubuntu 11.10 Preview files

Where are the preview video's stored. I've looked but can't find them.
I want to check the size versus quality ratio to find the best bitrate.

Re: Handbrake on Ubuntu Oneiric 11.10

I had one video fail with 4445. The video encoded fine, but the audio was off, but when I got the 4454 build tonight and re-encoded the same video, it was fine. I'm also able to encode a 2 hour video in 45 minutes now compared to 2 hours on Windows, both using the 64-bit versions. If you haven't upd...

Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide

I'm slowly ripping all my DVD's to a Streaming Media Player attached to my TV, and I noticed when I got to this movie in the R's; nothing I did would imprint the subs into the video. When Hopkin's is speaking to the devil in Italian, it wouldn't show up, but after several tries I decided to look at ...

What does the release of 0.9.6 have to do with this thread?

SC
Because it was mentioned in the post above mine, which makes it a valid verbal third person response embedded in the first persons communication.

Re: Video not fluid

Hi! Disabling the detelecine filter worked, but didn't completely solve the problem. What's the point of changing the original framerate? A higher framerate will make it smoother on a high definition screen, but for me it was throwing the audio out of sync so I used the peak framerate option and it...

Re: Video not fluid

I found that using Peak Framerate helped with me. If I use constant framerate, it'll play fine on VLC, but the audio/video is out of sync and the whole movie skips slightly on my WDTV and Sony SMP

Re: Native 64-bit for Windows?

I'm running the 64-bit Nightly build on 64-bit Windows 7, and at high resource setting it only uses 800MB of Ram, but 95% CPU. I think I need a googleplex-core CPU. I've tested Handbrake with different CPU's. You can see the results here:http://www.cerise.com/cpu_performance_chart.htm Handbrake's t...

Re: Perfect settings for owners of Sony SMP-N*** Streamers

Quality: I Use target Size: 1024(1GB) I don't think that would be the best choice because you are going to allow 1GB per encode regardless of whether it is a short movie or The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King at over three hours. The quality will vary from movie to movie. Using a Constant...

Re: DVDS queued - Got M4v extension then all MP4 extensions

I used to always use .mp4 until I noticed .m4v will play nicer with my Sony SMP, so I have the Nightly set to always use .m4v. It's exactly the same container with a different file name, but as Rodeo pointed out, some players and Quicktime need to see the .m4v extension to process it correctly. When...

Re: 4426 hard freeze

The same thing happened to me when I deleted all the built-in presets, but returning the presets fixed it. There's a safeguard (I think) that prevents us from removing the "Normal" preset, but I removed it anyways, and that's when my PC choked, blue screened, and dumped a log. The dev woul...

Re: Handbrake encodes only 1 Title out of two

I ripped a similar movie, but I had to use AnyDVD to rip the DVD Folder to Hard Disk, then encode the two titles from the HDD using HB and then used another program to append the two files together. I won't advertise the name here, but you can easily find a program to append split .mp4 to one file. ...

Re: Save custom preset

(If your running Windows 7/Vista) I had that problem at first; I'm guessing user_presets are read only. I had luck logging in as Administrator, then running HB as Administrator and setting my custom preset, then closing HB and signing in as Owner, reopening it as non-Admin and it would save the sett...

Yes, Sir.
MetaX did the trick, and now I can be completely lazy now that I found out how to use the HB queue, lol.
Thank you.

I meant the release year of the movie. I guess the movie could have a production of years before the release; I wasn't clear on that.
It's easy enough you rename the file though..I guess I'm not that lazy yet.

Thank you for the replies.

Re: Bug/Glitch in 0.95 on Windows 7 64-bit

Hard subs will always be there, because they are a part of the video stream and not a separate stream. SC I am in no way prevalent to how digital media works, but I think some DVD's are printed differently to the original. District 9 is one example that has Nigerian and Alien subtitles hard coded, ...

Re: Bug/Glitch in 0.95 on Windows 7 64-bit

I've noticed this program does another great thing that the other rippers don't do (besides rip a quality video), and that is Handbrake doesn't remove hard coded subtitles from the DVD when you rip it. I can set the Nightly to never add subtitles and the hard coded subs (the foreign language in an E...

Automatic File Naming Question

Is it possible to extract the production date from a DVD and have that added to the automatic file naming? Perfect settings for owners of Sony SMP-N*** Streamers

Bug/Glitch in 0.95 on Windows 7 64-bit

This is just a minor glitch, but it took me hours to figure out what was going on. The video would rip fine, and play on the PC fine, but when transferring it to my external a...
