Using Handbrake for Win 2.25 (Beta) On win XP Pro (SP2)

Tried encoding DVD as 320x240 MP4 @150 MB filesize - Stopped at 50.28%.

Tried encoding DVD as 320x240 H.264, Avg Bitrate @ 500 2xPass... stopped at 50.28%!

WTF?

Anybody know what the problem is here? All help gratefully appreciated.
