Re: x264 to x265 - general advice - RF Value, Filter (Denoise)

As said above, for maximum quality just stick with your original rips.

Encoding costs money for electricity that people often forget, disk space can often be cheaper but it obviously depends on lots of factors.

Re: Keeping original format

Try one of the presets that match your needs and post if you have any issues.

Re: Reduce/shrink file time of a in video camera stream

Sounds like the OP wants some kind of time lapse that you see on some security cameras. Thus you don’t have to watch an hour of video if nothing happens.

Re: Output as filesize?

You will need to find a file size/bitrate calculator. Google will sort you out.

Encode logs are required for individual support.
In case you are not aware, this won’t do what the OP wants. :D

Like I said, what player are you using and how long does it take to open? How long does it take to rename or delete?

Re: How is KB5001330 doing for you?

Hey, just trying to help.

You say “ does it play, rename, or delete normally?”

For me yes it all performs normally.

But what are YOU expecting and experiencing? Do files not open at all or just take a long time to open, if a delay how long, what player are you using?

YouTube will reencode your video when you upload it, this will probably mean quality loss.

Re: processor usage

Yes, if your cpu is being used your fans will cool it down, that’s the way it’s supposed to work.

If this is too loud you could maybe install a better fan if possible.

Finally, yes, if you use less cpu your cooling should be less.

Why slow it down?
