Tried everything. I can't make Handbrake output a MP4 extension. The option is off, of course: "Always use iPod/iTunes friendly file extensions (.m4v) for MP4" Searched the forums, nothing on this subject has come up. Is this a known bug? Is there a work-around? Of course I can just rename...

I highly recommend Anamorphic: Strict with auto cropping, for both widescreen and 4:3 videos, as this will keep the original image size/aspect.
