Re: Movies that have partial subtitles
That worked! Thank you for reminding me about that particular step, I tried so many I had forgotten that one. The Fix: My movie, in English, had subtitles throughout when various actors had roles that spoke a different language than English. When I converted the movie to .mp4 the subtitles were miss...

Re: Movies that have partial subtitles
Well, that didn't work either... There are only two tracks in English and I tried both.

Re: Movies that have partial subtitles
Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I tried that and it didn't work. The section in the movie where people are speaking a language other than English is void of the subtitles when there should be subtitles.
Is there anything else that I can try?

Movies that have partial subtitles
Hello, I'm tired of reading postings about subtitles to solve my particular problem, which of course I've yet to find an answer, so I need to ask this question directly... I have a movie (Hidalgo) that contains subtitles in only some of the scenes when the actors are speaking a different language wh...

The way I do it is: -MTR to rip the full DVD -I open HB and select on my settings -Select the source -Select the title -Select the destination and use the title name from the DVD box -Then add to queue -Go back to select the next title -Select the destination and use the next title name from the DVD...

MUXING time is standardized?
Hello Everyone, I'm staring this post to see what the differences are in MUXING time. I have run HB 0.9.1 in my Dell Laptop (1.25 Ghz) and a Dell Desktop (1.75 Ghz) consistently for the past week. I am using the MPEG4 file format, 3000 kbs, 160 44.1, and Anamorphic Par on a CSI series. Avg speed in ...

I think you might have misread a posting. I didn't ask why it takes long to mux, my concern was why sometimes when the CLI reaches 0 it quits compared to most times that it reaches 0 it doesn't quit for a while. Either way, I don't care because I'm sure you know about the problem by now. Aside from ...

I personally don't think so, I mean it was said that it's muxing... Duh, I can read the screen. I don't think it's doing what the developers say because my drive light stops flashing but the CPU is locked at 98%. I can't even use the computer for anything else while this is happening. It also seems ...

Well, it's normal in that it's the way mp4 muxing works in HandBrake on every platform If this is true on every platform, then what is happening on my Mac? It seems to work much more efficiently... Do you have any suggestions that would ease the pain of waiting almost double the time for the CLI to...

Okay! Here is what I found so far.... I ripped a episode from CSI that took an ETA (HB) of 31 minutes. The CLI stopped at Muxing: 00h00m01s, and during this period the HBCLI was using 97% of the CPU and 19,226k memory. The HB program was using 26,000k memory (no CPU). The CLI closed, with the GUI &q...

I'll try a smaller file, lets say a episode from CSI or 24. That's only about 40-45 minutes of screen time. They are usually completed at around 490MB. I think that should be a good test compared to the 1.5+GB files that I've been putting out. I'll post my findings tomorrow... Thanks for you input, ...

I went into the msconfig and turned everything off except basic programs, made sure all virus and firewall protection was off and any other program that I thought might be an issue. I then encoded one of the ripped DVD folders and I still have the same proble...

Okay, I have tried using Mac the Ripper and transferring the file to my windows system. The results are the same. The CLI hangs at Muxing: 0.00 % 1 of 1, 100% (55.75 fps, avg 36.00 fps, ETA of 00h00m00s) I don't know what else it could be? As I stated in a previous posting, the version before 2.4 wo...

Hey sr55, How are you today? Just a small note; I timed one of the conversions last night and it took a little over 1 hour and 50 minutes to clear out of the CLI beyond the 1 hour and 20 minutes to finish encoding. So that works out to be a total of 3 hours and 10 minutes to complete the process. Th...

Encoding finishes but process hangs over 30 mins...
Hello, Does anyone have the issue in which the encoding completes but the process does not? If so, have you found out why it does this and/or maybe a fix? I'm waiting up to an hour for the process to complete and the "ok" button to show up. The 2.4 version seems to have gotten worse on my ...

I'm surprised that the Project Administrators have not answered this posting, they're usually pretty good at attending the forums. I have the same problem (even with 2.4) and it slows everything down tremendously. Sometimes when I have a number of movies queued HB will pass right through, but most t...

Set to MP4 and HB changes to MPV (Not good for XBOX 360)
I have been trying to find out if there is something that I'm doing or HB is joking around with me? I set the process up for an .MP4 file and when it is done the icon is that of an iTunes file. When I bring it over to my Mac, it has an ".MPV" which does not play on my XBOX 360 (using Conne...

I too have the same issue. I rip a number of DVDs and place about 4 at a time in the queue. I setup the first file and add it to the queue, I then select the next file and setup the parameters and then add to the queue. I continue this process until I have all the DVDs (ripped) loaded into the queue...

My own battles
I'm not clear on what you are referring to, I never said anyone was wrong bout anything. (jbrjake is right?) I never asked for an examination of my findings in my first posting. In the second posting I cannot find where I am defensive, maybe you can point that out to me? Also, I thought I answered t...

Your posting seems sarcastic, did you read the original issue that I have? My original posting was focused on the fact that I have a slow computer and don't wish to spend the extended time it takes to process one movie under H.264 (Avg time is 14hrs). My alternative is the ffmpeg at 2500 ABR, once a...
