Re: *** AppleTV 3 and the New iPad (Presets) ***
I apologize if this has been covered already, but I want to make sure I have the correct info. I currently have an original iPad, iPhone 4, and Apple TV 2. I have been using the Apple TV 2 preset for BD Rips and the files play on all my devices (and I'm happy with the quality). Now that 1080p is a r...

It's not a laserdisc, it's a bluray rip.Rodeo wrote:HandBrake doesn't support Laserdisc subtitles.

subtitles help
I used MakeMKV to rip my copy of Pan's Labyrinth and included English subtitles. When I play the MKV file with VLC, I can select the subtitle track and it plays fine. Is there something I have to do in order to make sure this subtitle track stays intact when I encode the MKV file with handbrake?

Audio Adjustment (source was VHS recording)
I have several college football games that were originally recorded onto VHS tape, and then transferred to DVD. I'm in the process of converting these DVDs to an Apple TV2 format. On one particular game, there is a definite high pitched hiss or buzzing throughout the game. Is there a setting in hand...

Encoding Files on External Hard Drive
I rip my Bluray MKV files straight to a 2TB external hard drive (USB) so that I'm not using up my iMac's HD space. Would my encodes be noticeably faster (or at all) if I kept the MKV file on the iMac hard drive while encoding?

Re: Encoding for A4 devices (iPad, iPhone 4, tv 2)
The High Profile preset won't work for the AppleTV 2. Use the AppleTV 2 preset. For your iPhone/iPad, use the iPhone 4 or iPad preset and lower constant quality a bit until you're satisfied with the file size. Thanks for the reply, Rodeo. That's what I figured, but being that I've never encoded an ...

Re: Encoding for A4 devices (iPad, iPhone 4, tv 2)
I apologize, as I'm sure this has been covered. I just hope I am asking this in the correct place. I will soon start ripping my bluray library (have been using HB for my DVDs for quite some time now). However what I would ideally like to do is this: From a single bluray, I want to rip a copy and enc...
