Use VisualHub. It converts anything to anything else.

You should be able to change your .avi's to .mp4's for your PS3.

For reference, my Office episodes are ripped at 2000KBPs with the Anamorphic settings (Using the AppleTV preset for widescreen content) and a normal half hour episode (As opposed to an extended episode.) is 330MB each. The quality is good enough as to not be noticable. You have to realize that a DVD...

I've noticed just plain "Slow" seems to give a good enough result for me. Weird thing is that "Slow" is the same exact speed as "Fast" and "Off" on my computer. I don't get any slowdown at all. It rips exactly as long as it would without deinterlacing. So why ...

When I ripped my 3rd Rock From the Sun episodes, I used 29.976FPS/30FPS on it to get rid of jerky camera pans. As ripping as 24FPS or "Same as Source" was giving me a jerkiness I didn't notice in the DVD itself. Of course the DVD's video quality is so bad, it only fixed one of the multiple...

Yeah, this release blew me away too. I am especially impressed with the "Slowest" version of the Deinterlace feature which I just used today to reconvert a DVD of Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters and my god, it looks amazing. I compared the two side by side with Meatwad...

As a rule I always assume 2000Kbps unless the DVD is such low quality that I can get away with lower. Or is certain low complexity animation (Like South Park Movie which I was able to get by with 1000Kbps and still have a perfect picture.) I wouldn't go lower than 1500 for most stuff though. Even hi...

I'm having good luck so far with the CLI. An entire season of The Simpsons ripped perfectly as well as did three DVD's I've had multiple failures with using the GUI. Star Trek VI, Rat Race and Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Of course I just realized I forgot to set the -m flag and forgot to put in chapte...

Damn. I decided to cancel the rip at 13% because the time just kept going higher and higher. I'll do it over night. But I played back the finished file and the sound drops out right before Kim Catrall's character says "Captain on the bridge".

*sigh*

I'm trying the CLI right now to rip a movie I just discovered suffered from the drop as well. I ripped it a few days ago but only now got around to watching it. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. It dropped out a few seconds after they light the flares for warmth on the snowy prison planet arou...

All of a sudden I'm having problems with every DVD I'm ripping. For the longest time I had rarely any sound drops. I've done 99 movies and hundreds of TV shows so far and up until the other day I ony had the drop twice in all this time. Now suddenly I can't get any working rip at all with any DVD. I...

Just as I figured. HandBrake will rip from Video_TS folders that were ripped successfully elsewhere. But not from ones ripped on my MacBook. At all. I just need to know if it's a common problem with MacBooks or some laptop drives (Remember the mini uses a laptop drive too as does.. well, every Mac e...

Well, it's official. Neither HandBrake, MacTheRipper or DVD2OneX will read a DVD correctly. But DVD Player and VLC play it fine. It's just ripping software has problems. MTR rips bad rips. HB can't rip from DVD. D2OX won't even load any. I'm reinstalling OS X on my Mac mini so I can do a rip test an...

Well, so far I've successfully ripped 80 DVD's and hundreds of TV episodes on my Mac mini. They took like 12 hours each (Movies) to rip, so I figured the Intel MacBook would do it much faster. Which it does... as long as the DVD is ripped on another computer first. The ones I tried last night, I sta...

MacBook - Can't rip anything "No valid title found"

I can't tell if this is a hardware problem or a software problem. But it's really bugging me. All right, I just bought this last week. Literally last Saturday. All week I've been getting the laptop ready. Haven't tried to decode any DVD's until last night. The thing is I DID use HandBrake on some Vi...
