Re: Handbrake 1.7.1 - Can't move via keyboard through Chapter Names anymore
Thanks for the response! Oof, yeah, that isn't the cleanest approach, but at least it isn't mousey. That certainly works though!

Handbrake 1.7.1 - Can't move via keyboard through Chapter Names anymore
Description of problem or question: With the 1.7.x release, you all made a number of UI updates, most of which I love, but one that is already really annoying is the change to Chapters. In previous releases, you could enter all of the chapter names very easily by using Carriage Return or Tab after ...

Thanks for the information. Hadn't realized that Mod2 had been so widely adopted.
Thanks!

Modulus change from 16 to 2 - question
Noticed about a hundred builds ago the modulus was changed from 16 to 2. Just wondering why the change was made all the way down to 2. I've always understood (from my testing with H.264 decode implementations) that a modulus under 8 was risky for compatibility. Have you all found that this is no lon...

(Windows GUI) Remember Window Positions
Minor annoyance, but whenever you launch HandBrake Win GUI all windows appear in the center of the active display (by active I mean that in multiple-display configurations, the windows open in the display where the cursor is currently positioned). That means that the first thing I do is move the mai...

Window GUI - Presets down maintain max frame size
Though I encode the features at 1080-line, I encode the bulk of the supplements at 720-line to save space on the server. The following behavior has been observed in daily builds over the last several weeks. I haven't tested all presets, but this bug occurs with both the AppleTV and AppleTV 2 presets...

Re: Main window - selected title info
My understanding - perhaps an outdated/incorrect understanding - is that you don't want to use decomb across the board as it can cause softening and some aliasing on progressive sources. So I prefer to only enable it for interlaced titles. Is this incorrect? (I'm also curious how a "selective&q...

Re: Main window - selected title info
Hi Rodeo, I use it because I want to deinterlace only those titles that are interlaced. So for those that are 23.876 I make sure deinterlacing is disabled and for those that are 29.97 I enable deinterlacing (using our new bff Bob). Using "same as source" for frame rate still means I have t...

Picture tab: preserve source height option
I purchase a lot of older films on Blu-Ray that have the older academy aspect ratio (close to, but not exactly 1.33:1). Since the Windows GUI always preserves the 1920 pixel width, this means that the default options force a picture resize post-crop. For example, if the image is to be cropped by 240...

Main window - selected title info
I rip my DVDs and Blu-Rays (almost) completely, and process through Handbrake all titles that are at least 00:01:30 in duration. Since the content typically varies between 23.976 and 29.97 fps, I have to keep the scan log open so that I can check the frame rate of each title. It would be really fant...

Re: Audio track and Combing suggestions
Out of curiosity, is this a feature that has been dropped? I've dug through the last few nightly builds and I can't find this feature. It certainly would be an extremely useful one to have!

Re: Converting 4:3 full frame into 16:9
First off, I agree with the others that this is generally not a good idea as you're destroying the intended composition. But, that said, you absolutely do not want to crop equally from the top and bottom of the frame. That will destroy the composed headroom and you'll end up with a lot of cropped (o...

Re: Unencrypted Bluray support
Ran through about half a dozen of the problem discs and all of them successfully scanned with build 3654.
I'll be sure to let you know if I encounter another problematic disc, but it appears that this bug has been squashed.
Thanks!

Done. I put nineteen different failed scans up there. Hope these help!
Note that these were all ripped with AnyDVD HD 6.7.1.0 on an HP BD MLT UJ240 drive.

Re: Unencrypted Bluray support
I've been going through my Blu-Ray library with HandBrake svn3606 (x86 build) and I've found about twenty discs so far that fail with the "No Title(s) found" error message. Note that prior to that error message appearing (and it appears multiple times - generally at least ten or fifteen ti...
