In cases like that, I'd recommend just dumping them in our Multimedia forum.s55 wrote:Yes, which is why we recommend you compile from *our* source, not their ebuilds which modify things they don't know about or don't understand and thus, break things.

PSP HOWTO
Hi all, I want to get a running thread going where I can help get people up and running HandBrake for their PSP. I picked up a PSP 1000 the other day for cheap, and I got HandBrake 1.0.2 working with it just fine. I know there's this blog post from 2014 that talks about the preset, which works, but ...

High quality, but not High Profile
I have a question that I imagine is noobish. I know my way around multimedia stuff well enough, but I'm not too savvy when it comes to x264 in general. I have two media frontends that I playback my encoded content on, and one of them has an older VIA C7 cpu. Anything encoded with the 'Normal' preset...

Re: Audio codecs
That Vorbis hasn't been updated in a long time doesn't mean anything bad. It's just in maintenance mode. Even mp3 encoders (lame) get token updates these days. The real work has just been fleshed out for some time. From the collective opinion I've gathered on libfaac, is that it's a buggy, incomplet...

Re: Understanding subtitles...
I don't think I would ever watch subtitles since I speak English and all of my movies are in English, but I wouldn't mind having them just in case I think that's a wise approach. I never thought I'd use my subtitles either, but sometimes I'll turn them on when I'm a little too tired at night. See i...
