Re: Size of burned-in subtitles
I think I might be going crazy on my end. I did a few encodes as I thought it would be obvious to show the difference. Took a few screen shots and compared them one atop of another. The subtitles are exactly the same size. I could have sworn there was a difference, but that's apparently not the case...

Re: bd: Interlaced VC-1 not supported
Thank you for your quick reply. I'll just pop the disc in the player and watch it old-school style

Re: Size of burned-in subtitles
Where is your activity log? Given it's absence, I'll assume you are passing the subtitles through as a separate track in your output and not burning them in. In this case, it is your player that is scaling the subtitles and there is nothing HandBrake can to about it. Sorry, I didn't think to post a...

bd: Interlaced VC-1 not supported
I was going to encode "Wonders of the Solar System", but handbrake says no titles are found. In the scan log it says "Interlaced VC-1 not supported" . Does that mean I can't do anything with this disc or is there a workaround? Lars HandBrake svn4788 2012062901 OS: Microsoft Windo...

Size of burned-in subtitles
When I encode a dvd with cropping at 0,0,0,0 the subtitles appear at the same size as when I am watching the dvd. But if I crop the picture (especially removing black bars at the top and bottom), the subtitles seems to get scaled by the same factor that I crop the picture with. As a result they will...

Constant Quality vs. Advanced Settings
Hi, This may be a really inane question, but I've been pondering it for a while and I can't seem to find the answer. If I select a constant quality of 20 I will get a file encoded at that quality. If I select all manner of advanced options, I will not get any higher quality as a result, right? As fa...

Re: libdvdread: Could not open input: Permission denied
Just for comparison, here's a scan log without libdvdcss.dll: -i "E:\\" -t0 --min-duration=10 -v [19:15:08] hb_init: starting libhb thread HandBrake svn4788 (2012062901) - MinGW x86_64 - http://handbrake.fr 4 CPUs detected Opening E:\... [19:15:08] hb_scan: path=E:\, title_index=0 libblura...

Re: libdvdread: Could not open input: Permission denied
You shouldn't need it. Can you provide the scan log after you placed libdvdcss.dll in the HandBrake directory? Sorry for the delay, didn't have a chance to turn my system on for a few days. Here the scan log: -i "E:\\" -t0 --min-duration=10 -v [19:09:59] hb_init: starting libhb thread Han...

Re: libdvdread: Could not open input: Permission denied
Solved it. Upgrading to another nightly build of Handbrake apparently removes til libdvdcss.dll I installed into Handbrake's directory from Videolan. After I put it back Handbrake works fine.
I might be dense, but why do I need that library when I'm also using AnyDVD?

libdvdread: Could not open input: Permission denied
Running the latest nightly (4788) on Win7. I can scan a dvd just fine, but when I try to encode it nothing happens. Below is the log. I'm curious about the "libdvdread: Could not open input: Permission denied"? AnyDVD HD is running too, taking care of the decryption. CLI Query: -i "E:...

Forget the last post. Seems I was missing libdvdcss.dll in the Handbrake directory.

Re: HandBrake WPF UI Beta
Hi, Did a quick search and was not able to find anything (maybe the search was too quick, so flame me). I've downloaded HandBrake-svn4735_x86_64-Win_GUI.exe, and I can't get it to read a dvd properly. I have AnyDVD installed. When I select the dvd drive as source, handbrake says "scanning dvd&q...

What are the odds that decombing with bob will play back on iDevices? I mainly use an iPhone4, iPad2 and AppleTV2.

Here's a script to batch convert video files
Hi, I just spend half an hour writing an elaborate post on how to do this, tried to post it and got an internal server error :-( So here's the condensed version for those, like me, who have a ton of home video files they would like to convert to x264 for viewing across multiple devices in the house ...
