Colors look a bit... washed out
Hi there! I got a problem with Handbrake version 0.9.6. The colors of my video look a bit washed out, not as strong and bright as in the original dvd. I use detelecine (default) and decomb (default), the video codec is H.264. Quality was set to RF 22, framerate variable. What can I do to adjust the ...

Re: Great software! - New versions?
Well, I use HandBrake quite often and I sometime try to inform myself about new version and so on. So I go to the homepage and all I see is an entry from last february. Sorry I really thought you have shut your doors. And somehow I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't make further investigation t...

Great!
Well, it wouldn't be the worst idea to post some news on the frontage from time to time.

Great software! - New versions?
In my opinion HandBrake is the best video decoder for the mac including commercial programs.
But the developing seems to have stopped. Will there be further work on this genius software?

Re: Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
In 0.94 CoreAudio works perfectly, so it must be a bug in 0.95

Re: Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
So after testing a bit the reason seems to be the audio codec. AAC (CoreAudio) which is the default option in 0.95 causes the asynch problem. If I change it to AAC (faac) which is the default option in 0.94 there's no problem. What is the difference between them anyway? The faq just says CoreAudio m...

Re: Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
Sorry, I don't have time at the moment for testing all day. Takes always 30 minutes to do so. I will tell you when it's ready.
For now I continue using the old 0.94.

Re: Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
Tested. Makes no difference without subs and decomb, rogue23.

Re: Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
Disabling decomb or disclaiming the subtitles is no option for me. I need both.
In 0.95 the audio codec with mkv is AAC (CoreAudio) by default and in 0.94 it's AAC (faac). Does this make any difference?

Re: Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
Ok, it's definitely something about the new version. I encoded it with the old 0.94 and everything went fine. But maybe the reason is the audio presetting. They are different in both versions. In 0.94 the bitrate is 128 kbps per default. In 0.95 it's 160 kbps. I didn't change anything there. Could t...

Re: Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
So here's the activity log. I tried encoding it many times but it was always the same. The difference between picture and sound is minimum 1 second. Asynchronous problem with new 0.95
Hey there! I tried to create an mkv file out of a DVD but sound and picture were quite asynchronous. That happened just after I patched to new 0.95 version. Don't know if there is any coherence. But before it always worked fine. I used decomb default and adjusted the target size to 400 mb. Can anybo...

Forced subtitles from srt-file
Hi there!
Is it possible to create forced subtitles out of a srt-file in handbrake? If I add an srt-file I can't click on "burned in", what's the clue?
Thanks for help!

Question about decoding
Hi!
I try to convert some videos from a dvd .vob format into an mkv file. But every time I do this the result is a video which contains some kind of horizontal "lines" over the video especially in scenes with motion. What can I do?
Thansk for any help!
