Re: How to play HEVC on Google Photos

I think you misunderstood my question. And I did read the “How to get questions answered”. I am not asking to find what's wrong with my settings or my file, which is the reason why I didn't include any logs. All possible settings I tested so far do not work. I am asking if someone had luck with goog...

Re: How to play HEVC on Google Photos

Yes, mp4 works better than mkv it seems, but I only got audio only anyway.

@rolling_eng: I am sure you are right, but I though maybe someone on these forums found out some settings that work by chance.

Re: How to play HEVC on Google Photos

Thanks for the reply! I believe this information is out-of-date though: google photos supports MKV for example, which is not listed under this link. I also suppose VP9 is supported, which is also not listed.

How to play HEVC on Google Photos

I'd like to hear if anybody found a setting that allows x265 encoded videos to be playable on Google Photos. The best I got so far was audio only (and I didn't find any new parameters, it's more likely to be google that changed something...). I use a mac but I am in friendly terms with the command l...

x265 + rotate

Hello all, I can't find how to rotate a picture. I am encoding a video with x265 and I need to rotate it (smartphone was upside down when recording, original video has the right orientation in VLC thanks for orientation metadata, but is flipped 180° in the picture preview of Handbrake. Now, I have u...

Re: video becomes huge after cropping

I tried to tune for “stillimage”: 36,197,110 bytes instead of 33,269,648 bytes for video. So it's worse. Sorry about that, that was written in big red letters on top and I missed it. video becomes huge after cropping

Hello, I apologize if that's not the right forum for this. Please redirect me if that's the case. My problem: I have an mp4 video with black bars that I want to remove. The cropping works, no problem, but the resulting file is then three times bigger. The video is a presentation with very little ani...

Strange effect in playback of mkv files

Sorry for the not-so-explicit title, I'll try to explain it here: I encode a VIDEO_TS directory with hadbrake: mkv, x264, AAC, CQ 60%, loose anamophic. When I try to read the mkv afterwards it works. But when I try to jump to a particular scene, VLC (Quicktime+Perian also) compute something from the...

HandBrake doesn't use 100% of the CPU

Handbrake use only around 90% of my CPU. At the beginning of each encoding, it uses 100%, but then (I don't know exactly when) it goes down to 90%. Could it be that the fact that I'm reading a DVD image from an external HD and writing the mp4 file back to the same external HD (USB2) slows down handb...

How not to clutter anymore the GUI...

It could be a simple table, with unlimited rows, and two columns: the first one for the language, the second one for the encoding (dolby etc.). When one would click on a row, a drop down list would pop up, with the different possibilities. If there is too much language, the table would have a scroll...
