Are you selecting the BDMV folder?
I don't think so.

Re: HB and BD's ripped by MakeMKV

You want to open the folder above BDMV, IIRC (here, LOTR:_FOTR). If that still doesn't work, try renaming said folder to something without a semicolon, maybe it'll help. Still the same error. HB and BD's ripped by MakeMKV

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: I've backed up a BD using MakeMKV with the decrypt option, and now want to use HandBrake to rip the titles just like I do with DVDs. However, none of the folders I've pointed it at "see" the titles. Tell us about your e...

Re: Queue Improvements

But it essentially allows us to have Handbrake automatically stop at any point within the queue. One work-around in order to currently do this is drive HandBrakeCLI from a bash script (usually written for Linux, but should be portable to OSX) which reads a text file which is your queue. This is wha...

Compile. Could you be more specific about the commands necessary for extracting the source and making the binaries within FreeNAS? Sorry to be so ignorant of these basics. :( Thank you for your kind understanding. - nello You'll have to look at this (https://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/CompileOnLinux) p...

mediainfo "Encoding settings" and x264 presets

Hi,

I don't remember the exact set of x264 parameters that I used to transcode a certain movie. mediainfo, though, shows me the encode settings. Is there some table with which one can match those settings to a specific combination of Profile, Preset and h.264 Level?

Thanks.

Re: Disable cropping?

(It would be a helpful addition to the CLI "--help" at the same time that "--large-file" is removed.) We already removed that. Update to 0.10.1 please. I was on svn6984. But svn6990 (just downloaded it a couple of hours ago) fixes it. As for updating help for --crop, I'd say it'...

Re: How many CPU cores are supported?

More than 6 are supported. There is no hard limit. But after about 6 there are steeply diminishing returns in performance. So it's generally not advisable to spend lots of money on more than 6 if you are doing a single encode at a time. In the future, I hope to rework the HandBrake queue so that yo...

MP4s not timestamped anymore?

Hi, I just noticed that mp4 timestamping disappeared some time between May 2013 and November 2014. Was that done on purpose or is it a bug? (All work done via CLI on Xubuntu 13.10 or 14.04.) Encoded date : UTC 2014-06-09 08:45:09 Tagged date : UTC 2014-06-09 10:16:34 Writing application : HandBrake ...

Disable cropping?

Hi, Using latest Stebbins Ubuntu snapshot. Is there a "--no-crop" option? (I just see no need in chopping off those extra 2 pixels that HB wants to remove from old TV show DVDs, thereby distorting the 4:3 A/R.) Currently, when I don't want to crop, my bash script has to jump through hoops ...

Regarding the GUI... ummm... yea. It does appear that I can invoke that from an xterm window via "ghb". Really glad you told me! I would never have figured that out on my own. It ain't exactly an intutive name for the thing. I guess that naming it "HandBrakeGUI" or some such thi...

Re: Converting a GUI preset to CLI for batching

Run "HandBrake -z" to get a dump of the parameters used by the various built-in presets. Then use that as the starting point for your batch script. Regarding CC subtitles, I'd run "HandBrake -t0 --scan -i XXXX" to see what HB thinks the CC subtitles are, and then use some combina...

Usefulness of --large-file?

Hi,

HandBrake svn6984 (2015031301) - Linux x86_64

Transcoded mp4 movies larger than 4GB are still viewable (vlc, mplayer and a WD media player) even if "--large-file" is not set. Do we really need to set this flag for large videos?

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202808 Some file systems do not allow characters that are otherwise acceptable to the operating system. Hmmm. When I rename it to something boring, it's able to transcode.

Still, that seems like a bug, since that's a legal file name.

Hi, HandBrake svn6984 (2015031301) - Linux x86_64 from Stebbins nightly PPA. Before I go to the bug forum, I wanted to check here, since it might be a misconfiguration error. When ripping a BR from the CLI, I get the above error, every time. From the GUI, it works perfectly. http://pastebin.com/VkiP...
