Re: Color Washed out in Encoded File
The -M flag in the CLI will let you change the signaled color from the default, which is based on the resolution of the source. Values are 601 and 709. Thank you, it works very fine! But is there a possibility to add the same option in the GUI? I really need it in the GUI! Here is the X264 Settings...

Question to x264 developers: blocking depends on resolution?
A question to x264 developers: Pixel-blocking depends on resolution??? (or how to get your iPod video look smooth, without ugly blocks) When I encoded my DVD to iPod using HandBrake x264b30, I noticed, that with output resolution 640x272 I got lots of pixel-blocks in my MP4-video. Those blocks are ...

PuzZLeR , For me 640x352 encodes with not original Aspect Ratio. Only 640x272 with --crop 76:76:8:8 looks like original video in DVD. By the way, all my DVDs that I bought from Video Store are 720x576 with such black-stripes top-n-bottom, so I think, that's original DVD format. Square pixels, if yo...

Quality of iPod video from iTunes with HandBrake on Windows
Could anyone send me, please, a correct HandBrake Advanced preset for encoding DVD to iPod. This preset should help to remove all blocky-artifacts in the encoded movie, cause all Advanced settings I've tried do not remove any pixel-block at all! When I'm looking at the video-podcast for iPod downloa...

For everyone, who has the same problem, here is the solution I found. So, if you have a DVD 720x576 16:9 with black-stripes top-and-bottom of the picture, that the height of one black-stripe is about 1/8 of full video height: 576/8=72, so, the actual size of the video content is about 720x432, and y...

How to change Aspect (encoding for iPod)?
When I select a Title of DVD to encode Aspect automaticly sets to 1.78. As I understand it's 16:9 and the Aspect of the DVD is 16:9, but the video contains black stripes - the full size is 720x576 and the actual size of the video content is about 720x432. So when I encode I get long-faces on the scr...
