Filters?

Hello,

how do I run filters, like the kind that brighten and remove artifacts. I notice on dark low quality rips like (Anonymous 2011) it becomes more apparent. Can I get some explanation on how to pretreat the video 1st before encoding to make it smoother?

Best regards,

Error installing on Win Server 2008 R2

Hello, I had an error installing with my new server. I had the same setup previous and Handbrake worked great, but for some reason this time it fails when I try to run after install. I thought maybe the .Net 4 was the problem so uninstalled those and redid everything. But still the same message. An ...

Re: can a different pc have different file size results?

Hello,

Can post a log of both projects to see what went wrong.

If you had the same file and settings, there shouldn't be a difference except one would encode the project faster.

Re: AC3, 6ch @ 448kbps

Correct, as you can see from the image abovoe, the source says English DTS [5.1 ch] So I should select AC3 (ffmpeg) and from the mixdown, select 6 channel discrete. I was only getting 2 channels and now I have the proper one selected. If it were from a DVD I would just select AC3 passthrough, but th...

Re: AC3, 6ch @ 448kbps

Yes, I see AC3 encoder but mixdown will give me 6ch.

Does it have to be sourced in from DVD AC3 6ch or can it be from DTS 5.1.

AC3, 6ch @ 448kbps

Hello,

is there a way to encode the audio type listed in the title using Handbrake and if the original file has DTS 5.1 audio? Or whatever comes closet?

MKV BR file has no chapter

Hello, this is a problem unrelated to Handbrake process, but maybe the community can help. I have a 720p BR file (mkv) there are no chapters. Can I use a program that I can edit the file and add chapters without having to re-encode. If I can create chapters, then I would use Handbrake to re-encode t...

Re: AC3 passthru with a DTS stream?

Hello - do you mean the AC3 (ffmeg) encoder?> If so that would make sense, how does it know it's not picking up and force an AC3 (ffmeg) encode. That's kind of a sweet deal, so you don't spend an hour waste, LOL. Would you then suggest AAC (ffac) with a bitrate 192? Not sure which one would be ideal...

AC3 passthru with a DTS stream?

Hello, I was testing out different audio options for encoding and I found a weird discovery. The original file that I was encoding had DTS audio and when I set up the project I selected AC3 passthru (NOT DTS passthru). How did I manage to get audio when no AC3 stream was there? The first project I s...

Re: [Already Possible] Encoding straight from DVDs?

Or you can rip DVD to your hard drive first, using DVDFab HD Decrypter, which is free, after the trial.... It actually encodes a little faster that way too.

Re: audio encoding options

I was about to pull those two speakers to install them but first I was messing with the configuration, trying to set speaker settings to 5.1 instead of the 7.1 that was checked. It wouldn't work, so I just uninstall using add/remove the driver. After the reboot i got no audio (of course) but i thoug...

audio encoding options

I looked at the Guide for Handbrake about the Audio options for encoding, but I was wondering if someone could simplify it a little for me, if possible. Audio codec by default in version 0.9.4 is AAC (faac). I noticed under the drop down AC3 Passthru. What's the difference really? Also theres a sect...

Also it encodes faster when you first rip DVD to your Hard Drive. I use DVDFab HD Decrypter, its "FREE" after the trial but only lets you Rip the WHOLE DISC. After ripping, just remember to delete the DVD you rip to your computer.

Re: Convert from DVD9 or DVD5?

You don't have to have it set to ISO format, it just looks neater to me. Both methods work the same, little loss of quality ripping to "Folder" or "ISO" format. DVDFab HD DECRYPTER only lets you rip the ENTIRE DVD unless you have buy the program or are within the trial period. Go...

Re: Convert from DVD9 or DVD5?

I use DVDFAB HD DECRYPTER and copy the WHOLE DISC to my PC. I set quality at the bottom to DVD9 so that it says 100% quality. I set it to save as an ISO image. Once it finishes about 10 minutes, I mount the ISO image using Virtual CloneDrive. Open Handbrake, go to source and the iso image mount is u...

doesnt it say dvd is encrypted. so that means u either have to use a program like DVDFab HD Decrypter (FREE) to rip the disc to your PC. then open handbrake and click source, DVD/Video TS_Folder and search for where DVD was ripped to. DVD43 sometimes cannot due the job with newer titles. Anyhow u sh...

how about if you set to constant quality default at like 60.78%, under the advance reference frame (RF) is set to 2. i dont see an option to select 20. max is 16. is that what this RF is means?
