Re: Mac Channel Mapping
Thanks guys...quicktime on Macs is still a little screwed up in a few places, but it seems like that particular bug isn't a problem right now if I rip in handbrake and play through Kodi.

Re: Mac Channel Mapping
I haven't actually done anything yet. I'm trying to figure out if I still need to do the type of corrections referenced here: https://www.cod3r.com/2008/02/the-correct-way-to-enable-ac3-passthrough-with-quicktime/ As i said, its been a while since I last used this setup--but seeing how old that link...

Mac Channel Mapping
Description of problem or question: I haven't used handbrake for a while; I remember when I did that in order to get it to produce properly mapped 5.1 videos I would have to manually make those adjustments and remap the channel settings. With the latest build and using the 1080 30fps preset, would ...

HD TV question for DVD Rips
I've currently got a nice 42 inch Panasonic 720p plasma Viera tv. I've been ripping my DVD collection for years, and they are all standard definition. The rips look perfect on this tv, which is situated at about 6 feet from the seats. Now, I'm considering upgrading it to a 50 inch plasma in a slight...

Re: Passthrough no longer working
Well here is the interesting thing. I switched the order of the audio tracks, and didn't think anything had changed. My property window was still just showing two channels. So on a hunch, I copied the file to my older computer that is too old for Mavericks, and sure enough, the surround sound window...

Re: Passthrough no longer working
I will give that a try. Having said that, its the same preset I have used for at least a year, Mavericks must have made some kind of change as well.

Passthrough no longer working
I am trying to copy a few movies and even though I am using the same preset I have used forever, the file produced no longer has surround sound enabled. It says it does, but only two channels are copied. This has happened with every encode since I upgraded to Mavericks. That is the only thing that h...

AC3 Passthrough Question
I have created a few movies with AC3 passthrough for the audio track. I then got a 5.1 system and am about to hook it up to my Mac Mini with the optical cable. From what I've read here http://www.cod3r.com/2008/02/the-correct-way-to-enable-ac3-passthrough-with-quicktime/ there are some settings I ne...
