Re: Reference Frames for iPod Video 5G
Ok, strange that we both have the same issue with the same episode although I cant get ep2 in sync at all. I have re-encoded yesterday and I still get the same result, bad sync. As a last ditch effort I visited a friend and set up the same encode on a Mac and voila! They work fine! I really hope it...

Re: Reference Frames for iPod Video 5G
Hi mkr10001, I'm a forum noob ( go easy ) and I've not had your specific problem mentioned at the top of the post but I have had the same problem with S1 of Sopranos. So far I've hit a brick wall. The only solution I've found is using something to re sync the audio , post encode. I think there'e a ...

Re: Reference Frames for iPod Video 5G
size != quality Different sources require different bitrates/filesizes to achieve the same quality. of course :) i have had some 40min programmes from a dvd done at less than 300mb before and they looked ok. It's the sopranos so the first few seasons aren't brilliant picture quality to start with a...

Re: Reference Frames for iPod Video 5G
I thought it might have been a typo. I gave that a go and it came out at 464 mb which is quite big. It's a 44minute programme. I might give maxrate 2000 a go instead see if that gets it down. Smaller than 350mb would be ideal as that's what tv programme downloads usually are (or so i've been told) a...

Reference Frames for iPod Video 5G
I'm trying to convert some DVD's for my ipod and I want to know what reference frames to use. I read they can make the file smaller with the same quality which is what I'm after. I found something on another thread where you divide by width and height, I got 8 but it said it was going to take 1 hour...

Question:
This new slidey bar has numbers on rather than percentages, what are the equivalents?
