Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
Once you have your Blu-ray ripped & its going to have the subtitles burnt in what bitrate do you use & what is the likely file size? I have sometimes been asked to do the same thing but burn it to a 25gb single layer Blu-ray disc & many videos exceed that 25GB size. I don't know how to ...

Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
Basically the same as my Hard Subs guide, but using AnyDVD. Granted some newer DVDs may not rip in DVD Decrypter as its pretty old now, and obviously won't work for DVDs. If DVD Decrypter doesn't work on a disc, I've found DVDFab8 seems able to rip any DVDs I throw at it. It also has a trial, but on...

Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
Now all the image links are broken (imageshack has went downhill fast).
But I finally managed to edit the original post, so I've swapped in some imgur links.

Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
Sorry, I know some of the image links are broken in the original post. Some completely broken and others can be fixed by changing their urls from; http:// img130. imageshack.us/img130/3861/hardsubs01.jpg to http://imageshack.us/ a/[/u]img130/3861/hardsubs01.jpg etc. But I can't seem to edit the post...

Re: Encoding several .m2ts? [bug included]
I use PlayTV with my PS3 and it records as m2ts files, if I end up with multiple files (trying to avoid 4GB limit for example) I generally join the files with TSSplitter. Open it then go to File > Open for Joining, then click Add and select all the files, then hit the big Join button.

Re: Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
Hi, I've been trying to get subs to show up correctly on my iPad.. I've tried a variety of options including methods not using handbrake and I've gotten the same result.. that is where the subs is not completely show on screen. Here is an example screen cap from the iPad. http://www.tnsai.net/IMG_0...

Re: Encoding movies to 350-400mb
Accept that attempting to fit a feature film at a decent framesize into 350-400 MB is a fool's errand? True. I use the average bitrate setting at 1280kbps h264 and my movies are usually between 900MB & 1.5GB, even then I'd say there's room for improvement. To give the original poster a sense of...

Hard and Soft Subtitles Guide
One thing I noticed when I first used Handbrake was the Subtitles tab, but lack of information on the forums of how to implement them (especially hard subtitles). Once I managed to get hard subtitles working I decided creating a guide would be good for any new users just starting out. A fore warning...

Re: Burning (Hard Code) External SRT subtitles
I also found the lack of information on how to implement subtitles a little bit tedious. As far as I can tell you can only have hard encoded subtitles by ripping from the DVD, whereas with soft subtitles you can use an srt you've downloaded or an srt created with SubRip from DVD file. Soft subtitles...

Re: Backup DVD 1:1 to HDD - confused
As has already been said - handbrake isn't what you need. If you want a 1:1 copy of the DVD to store on your HDD and dont want lots of .VOB/.IFO/.BUP files then i would suggest using a DVD ripper (such as elaborate bytes CloneDVD2) which can rip the DVD to an .ISO file format. This will create an e...

Re: How to embed subtitles in HandBrake
I've managed to get soft subtitles working, even on the iPod. But I'd still like to know the best way to get hard subtitles working.
