Re: How-To: Automate DVD & Blu-Ray (Backup, Encoding & Taggi
Hi Mac Jedi - Great work. Have been using your solution for ~6 months now. I have a strange phenomena creeping up. I have downloaded some .mkv files, and when I use the Batch Encode workflow, it seems to be creating ~6 different copies of the same encode. Just started happening a few days ago, and h...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
fcmarriott, Have you tried the Windows version of MetaX? I know that would involve flipping back to Windows, but I've found that it's far more stable and it allows HD tagging for iTunes so that would save the second step in Subler. Good point; the Windows port of MetaX utilizes the mp4v2 library th...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
All - I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced my issue. I'm using AnyDVD HD to rip, run it through ClownBD, then move over to Mac/Snow Leopard and use Handbrake to encode both SD for mobile and HD for AppleTV, subler to add chapter track and then run the HD file through MetaX to add additiona...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
Thanks for the pointers everyone. Have a question that I haven't been able to think through yet, and since I've just started, I'll ask. When ripping BluRay movies with AnyDVDHD, and then running through ClownBD, I end up with a single .mt2s file with no chapters in it, which I feed into Handbrake. H...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
Thanks, I thought it was just a 720 width restriction. I will give it a re-encode.

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
Hello again everyone. Quick question - wasn't as successful as I thought. Can play HD file, after encoding, on my computer via Quicktime, in HD, looks pretty damn good. Won't sync to my AppleTV, the ATV pukes and says "Video Format is not supported". I was under the impression that all tha...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
Hey Nightstrm (and everyone else) - based on this discussion, I decided to take the HD plunge. I've ordered an LG GBC-H20L, got Boot Camp up and running on my shiny new Mac Mini (late 2009) and have started the ripping process. I've been successful with the first one, after about 2 weeks of reading ...

Re: Subler (like Muxo, maybe better?)
You should use the cnID tag if you want to combine files in iTunes. You will still have two separate file, but iTunes will see it as one if the cnID is the same. Goal: to have two files in iTunes, that are presented as one, but the 720P gets played on my AppleTV while the 480p version gets copied t...

Re: How-To: Automate DVD & Blu-Ray (Backup, Encoding & Tagging)
Mac.Jedi - Truly great how-to. I have read through the entire thing a couple of times now and plan on implementing this weekend when I get a new mac and rebuild my ripping process. Couple of quick questions, for the last ~2 years, I have been using MacTheRipper (various versions, but currently 3.0 M...

Re: Mac Mini 1.66
Thought I would post this as I'm getting a new Mac Mini by the end of this week and thought it would be good for comparative purposes. Machine Type: Mac Mini ~ Spring 2006 CPU Speed: 1.66 GHz Core Duo Number of CPUs: 1 Memory: 2 GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM Hard Drive: Upgraded 250 GB 7200 rpm Seagate SATA (Vi...

Nice work
I also downloaded and compiled the svn as of last week. I must say, really good work on the changes. I haven't had a single problem yet. You know, the unintended consequence of the Advanced Tab is going to start a whole big wide discussion about the virtue of one setting over another (in the advance...

I consider the odds of this product being supported by OSS to be slightly lower than a snowball's chance in hell. That having been said, if it is ever supported, it would have to be supported not by HandBrake, but by x264 - the OSS library we use for H.264 encoding. Should they choose to embrace/su...

Ordered
Being a sucker for new toys, and since I haven't bought anything in a while, I ordered one of these babies up. I love handbrake, its all I use for encoding after trying many different apps. If the developers want to see it, play with it, check it out, I would be more than happy to give it a loan if ...
