FINALLY!
Alright, that seems to resolve the issue. Weird. I'll let you know if I run into this problem using 48k...

Re: 0.9.3 Encodes have extra length at end (w/ Log)
Sorry! That really wasn't my intention. So I found some further information . . . when I encoded something yesterday, I didn't have that problem. I think the only major difference in the encode is that it didn't have multiple audio tracks. Here's the log. HandBrake Activity Log for /Users/user/Deskt...

Re: 0.9.3 Encodes have extra length at end (w/ Log)
Actually, I tried a few encodes this morning and that doesn't seem to be fixing the issue. I set the framerate to 23.98 on each of them, but they still came out weird. Mexico 2 for instance, ends at 1:53:44 when the actual end of the encode appears to be at 1:44:30.

Re: 0.9.3 Encodes have extra length at end (w/ Log)
Oddly enough, this worked. Thanks!
Still wish I didn't have to manually set the framerate though. What if I pick the wrong one?

0.9.3 Encodes have extra length at end (w/ Log)
All the movies I encode with 0.9.3 seem to have a weird error at the very end. After the credits, it's blank for a few more minutes. Trying to skip through this part using the progress bar (in quicktime or iTunes, for instance) yeilds strange results. It'll usually continue showing the frame I was a...

Re: 0.9.2 Serious AppleTV Playback Stuttering
Ok, I get that, but I don't want 2500kbps. I want a much higher bitrate for my encodes. On 0.9.1, I could get away with 5000. I decided with 0.9.2 to move down to 4000kbps because of the additional space needed for 5.1. How can I make an encode work without stutters on AppleTV at about 4000k?

Re: 0.9.2 Serious AppleTV Playback Stuttering
Thanks in advance for your help. I don't think there's any vbv-maxrate or vbv-bufsize specifications in my advanced options tab. What should I set them to to prevent stuttering.

Re: 0.9.2 Serious AppleTV Playback Stuttering
Also, I clicked the AppleTV preset, and then got rid of anamorphic and changed the bitrate from 2500 to 4000.

0.9.2 Serious AppleTV Playback Stuttering
I'm getting a lot of stuttering from my new DVD rips on AppleTV. I'm using: 4000kbps 720x400 Non-Anamorphic No Deinterlace Current Framerate AC3+AAC Even when the videos are synced to AppleTV, it seems like high action scenes are really suffering upon playback. They stutter and jerk a bit, although ...

Defaulting iPod Profile!
It would be nice if when you selected h.264, the ipod compliant profile was automatically selected by default instead of the main profile. I would imagine most people using h.264 want to make an ipod compatible mp4. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to change that, and then my mp4 doesn...

Actual maximum bitrate!
Apple says the maximum bitrate for a 640x480 h.264 is 1500. I beg to differ. I went to reencode a few episodes of a show . . . I had used MediaFork's current framerate, which ripped the epsidoes at 23.98 fps. The episodes came out a little bit choppy, so I went back in and set it to 29.97. I wanted ...

Mac Mini 1.83 Ghz Core Duo
I'm ripping at a pretty steady average of 17 frames per second when encoding two pass h.264.
