Thanks for the info. Mine is 1st gen. I tried to find out if the Normal preset produced video that was supported by the touch but I couldn't, so thanks for clearing that up for me.

I am assuming the Normal preset does not guarantee compatibility with the iPod touch, but I have tried the Apple Universal preset and it worked well. I don't think I need any further help.

I take it back. Somehow it worked for the one episode I ripped, so when I went to rip the rest (after having to close and reopen HandBrake) using the "Normal" preset the output videos will not play on my iPod touch. Here is the log: [11:41:23] hb_init: checking cpu count [11:41:23] hb_init...

I answered my own question it seems. Going back to the Normal preset with Anamorphic set to Strict I got the video to appear on my iPod touch. Sorry for the inconvenience.
