The G3 is not really worth upgrading IMHO. I got it for free and all I have done is buy some RAM for it and stuck an old 40 gig HD I had in it. Rather put the money towards a new iMac or Mac mini even. Thanks.

I doubt the Handbrake developers are waiting to get their hands one. At first glance, it appears the Elgato device is for QT-based encoding and Handbrake will not be supporting that. But there is a possibilty of another avenue. Both devices are based on the same hardware, but each vendor uses diffe...

Crash On PowerMac G3

I have a B&W PowerMac G3 that I am using as a network file server/jukebox and I figured I might as well use it for encoding videos with HandBrake but it crashes. It is completely Greek to me but here is the log: ********** Host Name: G3 Date/Time: 2007-05-16 20:40:42.489 -0500 OS Version: 10.4.9...

I just wanted to expre...

I have been using a slightly modified version of the iPod preset and it is working great. My only modification is to encode them at DVD native resolution with aspect ratio preserved. I can notice a slight quality difference compared to DVD (mainly just extra artifacting in dark areas) but not enough...

Faster After DVDRemaster?

I was just wondering if it might be possible to speed up the conversion time of HandBrake if I used DVDRemaster on the video first? I am using a 1 GHz iBook and it takes about 12 hours for HandBrake to convert 2 hours of video using the iPod preset. I have ripped the DVD to the hard drive first usin...
