Update - 2nd rip worked.....
I did a search and found my old Captain America thread......... same thing happened here....... I ripped Cars 2 again, did nothing different than the first rip (just like Captain America) used HB 9.5, used LIBDVDNAV in advanced preferences, used Universal settings - rip came out clean..... I don't q...

Encode did not work - trying again
Finished rip of Cars 2 - I thought...... using HB 9.5 direct from DVD, title 15..... Tagged it, imported to iTunes - nothing but the 1st 3 seconds will play, then the picture stops but the sound continues - I quit HB before I could save the encode log. Ripping it again to see if it will work - seems...

Cars 2 "seems" to be working......
Update - seems to be working..... Sorry for the confusion....... I went back to try to rip it directly w/ HB. Went to Preferences, selected LIBDVDNAV instead of LIBDVDREAD (which for some reason is required on some MGM/James Bond DVDs), used the ALT/OPT trick to scan title 15 ONLY and HB 9.5 seems t...

Re: Cars 2 not working
Sorry Guys - I have a similar problem, my copy of Cars 2 plays title 15 when I'm playing the disc in the DVD player. But when I use Fairmount and DVD2ONE (my usual routine) most of title 15 are zero chapters w/ time used, but no data. The movie itself is 1:46:11 - title 15, but there are multiple ti...

Re: Captain America? Worked this time.....
Don't know what I did different - I did another direct rip from title #25 to obtain a log to post on this tthread and it appears to have worked this time - I didn't do anything different, but I have it now. In case anyone cares, below is my log...... well..... most of it, it was too long to post.......

Captain America? Problems....
I just got Captain America: The First Avenger..... and am having problems...... I have a 2 y/o Mini as a HTPC, w/ Fairmount, VLC, DETOX & Handbrake..... I've used Handbrake (since 9.1) for hundreds of movies, TV shows and concerts and have usually been able to find a way around most problems - u...

Re: Bridge on the River Kwai - NOT HB issue
Thanks! Encode is in process - I hope I get the chapters but it isn't a loss if I don't......... It "seems" to be working at this point, my problem seems be solved by ripping the titles to individual folders for each title on my desktop and THEN combining them into DTOX before my encode. T...

Bridge on the River Kwai - NOT HB issue
This isn't a HB question necessarily (b/c I rarely have problems w/ 9.4)....... don't flame me, the other boards haven't helped, but I often find guidance here that solves my problems...... normally the "search" here solves my problems, but I haven't found a work-around yet....... But I ha...

Re: Toy Story 3 - Problems anyone?
Sorry for the delay - my encode works perfectly!
For the record, I seem to recall my disc used title 22 so it appears Disney IS actually placing multiple versions of the disc on the market with different title tracks for the main feature..........

Toy Story 3 - Problems anyone?
Hey, I just got back from the store w/ my copy of Toy Story 3...... Problem is, disc keeps locking up on me. First, I tried just using HB, won't find a source. Next, I tried Fairmount and DETOX - proper title on the disc is title 20, DETOX went to title 72...... when I switched it to title 20, DETOX...

Re: No Valid Source Found!
Search "James Bond" - numerous threads, one of them cracked my problem "no valid source". Make sure you're also ripping the correct title by viewing the movie in your DVD player.......... I've had no problem with any of the old movies "Thunderball" or new ones "Cas...

Re: No Valid Source Found!
I had the same problem - MGM (for some reason) uses different DRM on the James Bond titles - just un-check libdivnav and it should recognize the title. Also, you might want to try encoding straight from the disc w/ Handbrake, some "rippers" don't handle it so well. Anyway, disable libdivna...

Re: No 64bit VLC. What now smart guys?
I gotta agree with Da Man. I am by definition, a NB, but when I had a problem, I read the intructions first. I posted my question with as much info about my set up as possible (and a log!) and the moderators/developers were really helpful in solving my problem (and gentle w/ my post being from a NB)...

Re: HandBrake SVN2845 Snapshot
Thanks! I'll try that next disc, Austin Powers should be ready in about an hour. However, I had to use the "DVDNAV" to get my disc 3 of Monty Python to encode. I guess it varies by disc. I'll report back, but do the developers want to post on this thread regarding "snapshot" bugs...

Re: HandBrake SVN2845 Snapshot
Breakdown of Snapshot on Austin Powers OK, "Spy Who Shagged Me" got almost completely through the encode and then failed - I re-opened HB and it saw the encode in the queue - tried to re-start, it wouldn't. Using PB G4 w/ 1.25 Ghz, VLC, ripped w/ MTR 2.6.6, settings for Apple/Universal, 65...

How much faster is HandBrake SVN2845 Snapshot?
I recently posted the Monty Python thread - I was using a PPC G4 w/ only 1.25 Ghz of RAM and the new snapshot.......... Problems solved w/ Monty Python, I downloaded the snapshot to my 2009 Mini w/ 2 Ghz of RAM. I'm currently encoding True Lies (don't laugh) and it is encoding in 1/3 the time 9.3 us...

Re: Monty Python, cut off chapters
Update - Problem Solved! Thanks to everyone's help, opening "libdvdnav" enabled me to encode Disc 3 of Monty Python's Flying Circus! I appreciate all the guidance and help I got here. I'm still going to need DVD2ONE for "flippers" and dual Disc sets like LOTR, but this will get m...

An update here...... I gave up on Disc 3 of Monty Python's Flying Circus I just couldn't get it to work any way I tried, I'm going to have to pony up for Detox. Also, another stupid question..... where is the "libdivnav" in the advanced settings of the new snapshot? Couldn't find it anywhe...

Re: Monty Python, cut off chapters
Yes, I've been using VLC since I downloaded HB 9.3
I DO need to combine some 2 disc movies (LOTR/Godfather 2) so I was leaning towards DVD2one, and I already have Fairmount.
I'll try using just HB.......
Thanks for the continued advice!

Re: Monty Python, cut off chapters
OK, tried it again, MTR 2.6.6 in Full Disc Extraction mode. Opening HB (using 9.3 this time), the only source I get is the 1 minute 51 second segment with 4 chapters. When I recheck the source and look at the video TS folder, there are 4 VOB's the approximate size of an single episode. Is it time to...
