Apple TV Movies Out Of Sync and Jumpy

First of all Congratulations to all the Handbrake team on the new 0.9.3 version as it is fantastic. I have been using Handbrake for 2 years now & I can see the difference in the quality of encoding. I have noticed 3 problems with the latest version on specific movies that I just want the program...

Re: Hanbrake 0.92 movies Stall when straming to Apple TV 2.0

Hi, I am also on a wired network and I have the same problem. The network is not the problem because I have been given other Mpeg 4 files from other sources and there movies never stall, pause nor jitter within 10 to 15 minutes of the movie. The only difference between my converted files and there’s...

Re: Hanbrake 0.92 movies Stall when straming to Apple TV 2.0

Hi I am glad to hear that someone else has noticed this problem (no offence :-) I also store all of my media on a 1TB external Lacie Drive with FireWire800. I just don’t understand why this happens 10-15minutes into the movie. I think apple changed something in there Version 2 update as I went and h...

Re: Hanbrake 0.92 movies Stall when straming to Apple TV 2.0

Hi, I decided to take your advice and lowered the Bitrate but I still have the same problem even after doing that. I will list below how I converted a DVD to apple TV with my Leopard 10.5.2 MacMini, 1- I converted a 01:55 minute movie using the apple TV presets but added the 2-Pass encoding and chan...

Hanbrake 0.92 movies Stall when straming to Apple TV 2.0

Hello all, I have a MacMini running 10.5.2, a Apple TV with version 2.0 software update and I am using the latest Version of the incredible Handbrake 0.92 and Itunes 7.6.1. Since upgrading the Apple TV to version 2.0 I get a glitches & freezes within 10-15 minutes of the start of every converted...

Thanks for mentioning that you use VisualHub. Last night Ibaught a license for it & it converted a 120 min movie in 220 min & the quality is fantastic. Thanks for the idea... HandBrake uses exactly the same codecs as VisualHub: ffmpeg and XviD for MPEG-4 part 2, x264 for MPEG-4 part ...

That could be true. I don't like the QuickTime quality that much for converting DVD files, so I rarely use it for that. HandBrake or VisualHub give better results IMO. But that's subjective, apparently you like DivX better than h264, and that surprises me too. Well the thing is that I would love to...

First of all, you can't compare a program like DVD Fab to HandBrake. If you want DVD copy and DVD shrink applications for the mac, you can use programs like Toast or DVD2OneX (if you decrypt the DVD with MacTheRipper first). If you make a movie only copy with those programs and the main feature is ...

I've noticed the same thing. With the bitrate over 3000kbps it hardly noticable though. I think that the reason that the bit rate & constant Quality function makes no difference is due to the quality of the encoding. I believe that the encoding is where the problem lies. Which is why if you use...

First thing I'd try would be 2pass Encoding. The other o change some of the x264 Options. A guide to this can be found in the wiki. Sorry I forgot to mention that I have used the 2 pass encoding & it still has not resolved my problem. What I don't understand is that everyone raves on about how ...

Quality of Converting A DVD Movie to work on AppleTV

Hello everyone this is my very first entry in the Handbrake Forum & I am looking forward to working with all the Handbrake supporters out there. I have installed the splendid new version of handbrake 0.8.B1 on my Mac mini & I have several questions about the quality of H264. 1- I have conver...
