Re: Some batch conversions hang the sequence in 0.99 and 0.9

I notice none of your suggestions for what you deem to be a "trivial" fix is accompanied by a pastebinned patch. That said its not the right fix imo.

Re: ATV3 V1 v. V2: Performance Differences?

Smithcraft is right. A pastebin.com of the logs linked here will tell the tale. HB keeps logs of every encode.

Re: First generation Apple TV fitted with Broadcom HD Decode

As per davilla the dev that wrote the chd drivers for xbmc, though it can decode 1080p but it cannot render it to the display due to a lack of free ram if its running os x. I believe firecore is an os x implementation. That said, the atv 3 preset in HB is still your best bet imo. The appletv 1 only ...

Re: First generation Apple TV fitted with Broadcom HD Decode

Either way though, you would be in pretty good shape with the AppleTV 3 preset.

Re: First generation Apple TV fitted with Broadcom HD Decode

It depends on if you are running xbmc on osx or linux. If running it on linux (like crystalbuntu or atvconer) it can render 1080p to the display and frankly pretty much playback anything (including raw decrypted blu ray). However if running xbmc on osx even though the chd card can decode 1080p xbmc ...

Yes, verified here as well.

Commit 5000 fixed mingw building but borked os x building. We are aware of it.

Re: Hunger Games (which title?)

HandBrake will scan the first 11 of 18 titles then hang... I can't select a title since it doesn't complete scanning. (latest HandBrake with Mac OS X 10.7.5) Use open source title specific, you an tell hb to scan just a single title instead of the entire disk https://trac.handbrake.fr/wiki/SupportF...

Re: Handbrake, OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and system sleep

I personally am against HB controlling how the os works. Yes it sucks but ... caffeine was not created just because of HB. This obviously affects other programs. Imo its an os bug. Maybe look at it if they (apple) do not fix it.

Put bluntly: this is not in my view a Handbrake bug.

Re: Question About Encoding: iPad & Apple TV 1

Use the atv 1 preset. Period. for one thing ... the atv 1 cannot handle weightp in the advance options which the ipad preset does use. Trust me, you won't like it (fades will turn into a wicked nightmare). Just use the atv 1 preset. Oh, and Rodeo is right of course. atv 1 uses 64 bit mp4 (Large file...

Re: Hunger Games (which title?)

multi / bogus title discs often have several versions all using a different valid title .. even in the same region.

Wall E was one of the first to do this on dvd. Test it yourself with a player first. then use that title.

Re: Outdated guide

This refers to playback of audio encoded to 6ch AAC and the what AppleTV and QT do with such a track. I'm pretty certain it still applies. If you want all tracks, you need to encode to something like ac3 that can be sent digitally to your receiver or you need the additional hardware mentioned. This...

Admins, can we move this to another forum? Although it's a feature request, the thread is maybe better placed somewhere relating to general technology discussion, for now. Well, two choices ... Development or Tiki Bar. For now I vote Tiki Bar. :) At any rate ... tbh someone like Dark_Shikari with x...

Re: [Known issue] Preview does not work correct

The preview window basically needs a rewrite. It's not insignificant. I am aware of it as Rodeo said, I have about half of it rewritten. It should work much better when I am done. The existing macgui preview code goes back to hb 0.7.1 and has been added to so many times, in looking to fix it I deci...

is there a way to add more than one item to the queue at a time. Re: HEVC support? (new standard from MPEG; 40-50% > than H26

The only useful comment posted so far (in relation to the question being asked) is the comment that 'it'll be ready when someone else does it'. I don't know if that person speaks for the whole handbrake team, but it's at least useful as a starting point. Now, with all that said. Is there anyone her...
