Re: 1080 to iPad?
Most of the Encodes Blu Ray or DVD that I have done for my Apple TV Should work on my Ipad, here's the only one's I'm unsure about and that's 4:3 material, there's not much 4:3 stuff we have to worry about but I want to Encode my Star Trek TOS Blu Rays to be able to play them on the Ipad. Now the Ip...

Re: Video Stuttering, Blu-Ray -> Apple TV
Make sure you set the Frame rate to 24fps, anything else and it may stutter

Re: AppleTV 3.02
Well here's one thing I noticed Post 3.02. I had converted a Blu Ray over to MKV and that MKV over to 720p using the Apple TV Preset. I was tired and forgot to set the FPS to 24. Now prior to 3.02 the file would've stuttered all over the place. But I played it last night and except for 1 10 second s...

An Upgrade question
I'm running a E4600 DUAL CORE w/2gb ram. With this I'm only getting between 4-6 fps Converting a 1980x1080p mkv file to a 1280x720p m4v file using the apple preset. My Motherboard can accept upto a E8500 Dual core. Would I see a significant enough fps boost upgrading to the slightly higher processor...

Re: AppleTV Custom Presets - 0.9.4
For the record I am currently using a constant quality RF of 19.25 for sd dvd and an rf of 23 for hd sources with these advanced options: ref=3:mixed-refs=1:bframes=3:me=hex:subq=7:b-adapt=2:weightb=0:trellis=0:weightp=0 This is for me a balance of quality, file size and encoding speed. Given my mb...

Re: Getting it right closer and closer....
Are you using the preset using a Constant Percentage? I find that while the encodes look ok, it still uses a pretty small bitrate and makes a small file. i tried using average bitrate of 4000 and 2 pass turbo 1st pass and I did get a larger file and a bit more detailed one.

Couple Blue Ray Conversion issues
Downloaded 0.94 and tried Converting my Angels and Demons Blue ray rip tonight. First I asked for a target size of 4400 and I encoded to 1280x528. I also asked for just AC3 passthru of the DTS Track. The File produced was much smaller about 2800mb although the vid looked perfect. There is however no...

I seem to get a Better image if I leave it anamorphic but am I really if it's downscaling it to 640x480 for playback anyhow?

Re: Hanbrake 0.92 movies Stall when straming to Apple TV 2.0
What I've been seeing using the stock Apple TV preset is glitches where you will get what looks to be slow motion patches which cause stuttering, it happens for 10 -15 sec then goes back to normal speed, during the glitch the audio is not affected. Has anyone else seen this?

Why so Long to Deinterlace
I have to Deinterlace on several series I encode and using Slow Deinterlacing does the job but really lives up to it's name it slows the encode down alot, what does fastest deinterlacing lose me ?

Yeah I've been struggling with this as well, I'm hopeful the next gen of pod will open up the specs and allow them to play Apple TV Content. Untill then if yoo want them to play on both the Ipod setting 640x480 will be all you can do. I Have a mix, stuff I wand to look the best in Apple TV and some ...

Re: Ordered
Being a sucker for new toys, and since I haven't bought anything in a while, I ordered one of these babies up. I love handbrake, its all I use for encoding after trying many different apps. If the developers want to see it, play with it, check it out, I would be more than happy to give it a loan if...

I've been using HandBreak for some time and just wanted to personally thank all the developers that have put so much time and hard work into developing this program. It really is appreciated! Thank You! As many on the forum I had been waiting patiently for the AppleTv hardware and now that it's her...

I bought two Lacie 1.28 TB hard drives. One is a backup and I keep in a fire proof safe. Each one cost me $500. Unfortunately, I am running out of space and don't know what to do now. The cost of RAID is too much. I think I will buy a 2+ TB hard drive and then use the two 1.28 TB as back ups. The A...

I've found that there isn't a huge benefit to the sheer extra time it takes to encode to H264. On the PC I use Clonemobile to go to a Straight MP4 file using the Ipod Hi Res Profile, with a few tweaks. If I use about a 1800-2000 bitrate I find the image quality comparable to H264, the filesize will ...

Can you use Anamorphic with Mpeg 4?
I've had luck with getting my Apple TV playing H264 encodes using the profile for Apple TV. Yesterday I tried deviating somewhat, I tried a Mpeg 4 encode, set for anamorphic at an Average bitrate of 2500, it plays in Itunes but the ATV does not even see it. What might I have done wrong...
