Re-encode audio only
So I have about 50 MKVs from my library that I did DTS audio (forward thinking so I thought), but now finding out Sonos does not support DTS. I'd like to just re-encode the audio to AC3 instead of redoing each disk. I want to avoid messing with video quality (I run them at 20CQ) and just do the audi...

Re: BD encode seems washed out?
Good call - I will give that a try and report back. I was assuming it probably wasn't HB, but had to make sure CQ wouldn't cause any washed out content. I was too focused on making sure that I was using the same display, didn't think about the player.

BD encode seems washed out?
I don't normally scrutinize quality too much, but I noticed with my World War Z, it seems that the colors are washed out a bit. I loaded the BD in my CPU and played it next to the MKV, and I see a noticeable difference. I use a CQ of 20, do I need to increase the quality? Is there another setting th...

ffdshow crashing when playing encodes with nightly builds
I had an issue with Sherlock Holmes BD with 0.9.4 crashing in the same spot, so I tried nightly build 3284. The encode finished without error, however, the resulting mkv does not play in MC7 because it results in a ffdshow crash. Even more odd is that if I even highlight the mkv in Windows, explorer...

Scratch that...the encode finished without error, but when I try and play it, ffdshow crashes.DigitalFool wrote:Worked for me too - just forgot the CLI the first try when I saw this thread.

Re: Crashes in Specific Places?
I have the same issue - crashes around 41.3% each time. My process is a bit different - on a PC and use clown_BD. ### CLI Query: -i "C:\Remux\Demux.M2TS" -t 1 -c 1 -o "C:\ISO\Demux-1.mkv" -f mkv -w 1920 --loose-anamorphic --detelecine --decomb -e x264 -q 19 -a 1,1 -E ac3,dts -6 a...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
http://www.opensubtitles.org/en Thanks, I did come across that site but was unsure if it was a reliable source. I'm happy with the results so far. I do have another question regarding the chapters part. I'm using mkv and was wondering how do I get the chapters from the text file to work with Handbr...

Working with HDDVD - Dolby Digital Plus
I'm starting to go through my HDDVD collection after doing a few Blu-ray movies successfully. The guide given in the Tiki Bar has been great, but I was hoping for a little clarification because I am an audio noob. Basically, I've been using Clown_BD (eac3to/tsmuxer) with the option of unconverted fo...

Re: Advanced Bluray/HDDVD Workflow & Features Discussion
5.) Use suprip (Windows) to convert subtitle track into SRT file (via OCR... lots of hand editing required; can also try to find online). Wow...I've been working on my first Blu-ray one for over an hour and this is going to suck for the rest of my Blu-rays. I think suBrip (for DVDs) is way better. ...

Re: Windows Media Center Vista x64 issues with mkv
Thanks, TedJ - do I need to make any changes to the auto crop or put in a value when I select 'loose'?

Re: Windows Media Center Vista x64 issues with mkv
The anamorphic size is set to strict as with the preset. I believe I've pinpointed the issue though - if I have any left/right crop with the auto crop, it fails. If I set the left/right crop to 0 manually, it works. Problem now is, those films have a black border on the edges...blah... So the ones I...

Re: Windows Media Center Vista x64 issues with mkv
I suppose what I'm failing to grasp is why some mkv rips work great and others just the audio - I'm using the exact same presets in Handbrake. I know VLC has built in codecs, so that explains why that always works, but I've downloaded the necessary codecs (I think) for WMC otherwise none of them sho...

Windows Media Center Vista x64 issues with mkv
I just started to work on my HTPC and everything has been working out great using the constant quality preset in HandBrake. Now I've run into a few of my movies that will not play in Windows Media Center (via Media Browser), all I hear is the sound. I can play the same mkv rip with VLC without any p...

Re: Encoding stuck on Task 2 of 2 @ 0.01%
I was able to resolve the issue - when I was having the issue, I forgot to add that I was choosing English for the subtitles. When I chose Autoselect, it converted fine (after days of trial and error). Maybe someone can comment on why that may have been happening, because I've had two movies (so far...

Encoding stuck on Task 2 of 2 @ 0.01%
Having an issue with one of my movies. So far, I've had good success with a slightly modified ps3 preset from which I've gathered the changes from the forums. This one stops after the first pass at 0.01%. Kind of annoying as my computer takes 7-8 hours a pass. HandBrake - 0.9.3 PS3 preset w/ .mkv, d...

Does a video card improve quality/performance?
I was starting to spec out a new computer and the one I'm looking just has a built in, shared video on the mobo. When using HandBrake, is it important to have a good dedicated video card? Will there be a quality increase/performance gain when encoding?
