Why not do 24 fps? A lot fewer duplicated frames, and avoids/reduces mistiming all the frames.

The best quality you can get with no bitrate limitation is whatever the max bitrate of the encoder is, somewhere around 99999...

But depending on the movie file it seems AV1 doesn't always make a smaller file vs H.265. It's supposed to but it doesn't. It's capable of it, but certainly not "supposed to" with arbitrary settings. For example I tried compressing an H265 file that was 800 mb and it ended up being 2 GB w...

The difference in size is due to different encoder settings. CRF encoding isn't constant quality across different encoder settings.

rect=0 is probably the biggest influence on the speed difference.
