Re: No audio with .MP4 converts
Can your player decode an AC3 soundtrack? My .MKV files have AC3 and my player can decode the AC3 audio of those converts just fine. Anyways I tried the new snapshot last night after posting and it was able to convert movies to .MKV that previously would lock up when I was converting them to .MKV f...

No audio with .MP4 converts
Since I ran into the (.MKV process will stop at 0.02%) issue with a few movies in my collection, I began converting the remaining collection into a .MP4 container until the bug can be fixed. At first the process worked fine and the videos came out good. Now within the last few weeks anything I conve...

Re: Best audio for the long run?
Well, did a few converts with the AC3 track.
MKV/H264(x264)/AC3/62% DVD Quality
Movies are averaging between 1.5GB and 2.7GB depending on the movie. So I guess this is good then.

Re: Best audio for the long run?
Thanks for the reply Ted. I might just stick with AC3 pass-through since I don't mind the slightly larger file sizes and for future proofing. The one issue I had read about the A110 and HB converts is an issue with making MKV files where these files have to be ran through another application to make...

Re: Best audio for the long run?
The main question I would like to know is AAC or AC3 better for my criteria? I converted the same movie with both audio formats today and AC3 sounds a little louder than AAC. I couldn't tell the difference in quality. After this I prefer AC3 due to the higher volume level on my media appliance but w...

Best audio for the long run?
After reading for the past few weeks containers, formats, compressions, and so forth I am still at one hurdle. What is the best audio format for the long run? I want to be able to play my finished product without issues on my PC and my inbound PCH A-110 (getting rid of my Dlink DSM-750, long story)....

Re: Optimal video format for Dlink DSM-750
I currently am running H.264/.MP4 with 5.1 sound and 3500kbps video from direct DVD rips. No clue on the device, but wow that is a very high bitrate unless the source is wickedly grainy and old. methinks you are off the mark on your bitrate by quite a bit. What you recommend then for a bitrate? Any...

Optimal video format for Dlink DSM-750
I recently bought a Dlink DSM-750. I was wondering if anyone knew of the video compression format that would be optimal to play on this. Only real requirement is it would also be able to be played on a PC. I currently am running H.264/.MP4 with 5.1 sound and 3500kbps video from direct DVD rips. So f...

Re: Horizontal Distoritions with Animations
What would be a good kbps for Family Guy (and other animations like it)? Is 3500kbps still good for full regular movies?

Horizontal Distoritions with Animations
New to using HandBreak but not encoding. With all the animations I try to convert/encode from ripped DVD's, I get these same horizontal distortions. I don't know what they are called so I can't really do a search so I'm asking here. They seem to be in the faster animation parts of the screen and the...

Re: 2 pass encode dies consistently on 99.86% in first pass
Have you ran any encoding on this pc before this issue popped up? I had this exact problem on and older PC using another encoding software. Found out it was the GPU not supporting the software I was using. Just a thought that might translate to this issue
