Re: 480p non-anamorphic PAR breaks in preset

Here's the log: http://pastebin.com/TdkaLqGC I am afraid it doesn't help, though, since there are no new lines in activity log while playing around with presets. Here's how to reproduce (at least in my side): - Add an iPhone 1080p movie. - Select picture tab and change vertical storage resolution to...

480p non-anamorphic PAR breaks in preset

Hello, I've been having an issue with v1.0.2. I have created a preset that I use for my iPhone movies when recording in the dark. Here's the original settings: If I then go ahead save the preset and the recall it, have a look at the PAR information: The output video displays as 853x480, as if anamor...

Re: Issues with Handbrake 0.10.0 and aTV2

That's what I thought. Apart from iPhoto being replaced (a ride which I cannot board, since I'm on a Core2Duo MacBook), movie start at time zero seems more logical, than adding a few ms at the beggining. Anyhow, I managed to fix all videos by erasing the first frame using QuickTime Player Pro and ex...

Re: 0.10.0 Cannot convert using imported presets

Does this happen even if you try to encode JUST ONE source file? In any case, open the Activity Window (CMD-SHIFT-D on the Mac) and paste information here for the devs.

Re: Issues with Handbrake 0.10.0 and aTV2

Seems like I managed to make the "damaged" files playble by aTV2 by deleting the first frame with QuickTime Player pro and exporting the file to mp4, using pass-through for both video and audio. So I guess the 0.10.0 version of HandBrake adds some extra data in the first frame that QuickTime for som...

Re: Issues with Handbrake 0.10.0 and aTV2

Jeez... I don't believe I did not reference the link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9478420/hb_test.zip Mind you, the videos do not play if added to iPhoto library and then shared to aTV via iTunes home sharing (that's the official way to do it if you have a non-jailbroken aTV). All videos pla...

Re: Issues with Handbrake 0.10.0 and aTV2

I did not provide an activity log, since the issue is very easily reproducible, on my side anyway. I will reencode right away and provide the logs as requested. In the meantime, could someone tell me what's the difference between the two encoded files, since I don't thing it's a muxing issue; i trie...

Re: Issues with Handbrake 0.10.0 and aTV2

OK, this is getting interesting... same sources encoded with 6874svn is producing files that play OK on all, QuickTime Player, iPhoto and aTV2... Any help? Added both 0.10.0 and 6874svn encodes on the archive; svn's encodes are a few bytes smaller, 3kb/sec lower data rate. ffmpeg shows files are ide...

Issues with Handbrake 0.10.0 and aTV2

Hello, I've been using Handbrake since forever and had no issues whatsoever compressing footage taken from different sources for archiving and playback. I recently have been using an aTV2 to playback the videos with reside on a macbook running 10.6.8 with iPhoto. Here's the thing: Since I upgraded t...

Re: Why is Handbrake rotating my video?

I can't get it why the rotate function hasn't made it to the GUI version yet. I also seem unable to add the "--rotate=3" option in the additional options field. Lots of people are using iPhones to capture video nowadays, and this is a major issue when it comes to optimizing them for playback on othe...

You COULD (if there was such an application) crop, rotate, flip, inverse and so on an H.264 video without reencoding, but NOT scale it. It's just the way xpegs work.

Excuse me... what is this? If I am reading correctly, you are talking about an mp4 file with a mpeg2 video track and an ac3 audio track? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have the feeling that this SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK! There is no way to put mpeg2 video and ac3 audio in an mp4 file. That simple. Furthe...

Anyway, all modern (incl. mpeg4s and 264s codecs) have automatic keyframes build-in.

Seems a bit strange that non-deinterlaced material plays better than deinterlaced under VLC using VLC's build-in deinterlacer. UNLESS the original shows you are talking about do not need to be deinterlaced, because they aren't. Here is how it sums up: Interlaced video is far more difficult to be com...

Apple states that h264 achieves the same quality as the DVD at half bitrate, but that's when you have the source content fed to BOTH encoders. Since we are talking about already compressed content here, there is NO way to preserve the whole quality without dramatically increasing the file size. Just...

This happened almost for sure due to poor source video. I too ripped a 4:3 DVD that had too thick black vertical borders, that needed to be cut off. I just cut a few more lines horizontaly as well, and the 480 vertical res. was fixed.

You guys have forked the project and made significant changes to the code. Leaving titer as the only author is just inaccurate and wouldn't be fair to him or to you. I couldn't agree more. What's more, since MediaFork is a completelly revamped Project (or will be eventually), what's the point of le...
