A lot of libraries were replaced, including decoders.
Indeed. Given the nightly worked, my guess is the same as mduell's; it was most likely a decoder bug that got fixed upstream.

Re: Handbrake GUI - How to Select Constant Quality at Decimal Intervals?

I do use half-points myself TBH. And for very grainy full HD sources sometimes a half-point difference is like up to 10% bitrate difference.

We don't do Vorbis passthrough. Patches welcome.

No idea about sleep being prevented while paused.

It actually does, I was jet lagged. Only in the case of burn-in do we not know how many packets/frames there were. But at least my guess was correct, glad it's solved!

Yes, but the highlighted statement above is also incorrect (unless you actually meant "It's being worked but if it doesn't fix it, then the TV firmware is also buggy").

Re: NVENC on Windows nightly media info missing

@schinivision -> There is nothing you can do to force this. It requires a code change in HandBrake. It's being worked but if it fixes it, then the TV firmware is also buggy . No. The lack of parameter sets in the Matroska extradata (CodecPrivate) is a HandBrake bug, plain and simple. They're suppos...

Re: NVENC on Windows nightly media info missing

That's not metadata though, the profile and level are essential data that should be present and parseable in all H.264 bitstreams. It looks like possibly malformed or missing extradata (avcC).

Ok, just started encoding using Nightly build 1.1.0 (2018040700) 64-bit.
Erm… that's not a nightly build. Nightly builds versions numbers should look like:

Code: Select all

Re: Slow QuickSync encoding on 1.1.0/1.1.2 vs 1.0.7

Version 1.1.x is not detecting several encoding features that should be there. It does look like something got broken in the switch to using D3D11 (no idea what/where the issue is in the code, but as far as I can tell it would seem like in the 1.1.x encode, the Media SDK API is silently falling back...

Re: Handbrake crashing

Yes, it would be worth trying the nightly build indeed. So, ideally we need three tests please: (1) your usual source, with a nightly build: https://handbrake.fr/nightly.php --> note: if it doesn't crash, then no further tests are required (but please do let us know) (2) if the nightly still crashes...

Not sure which interface to MediaInfo this is, but it's pretty useless… it doesn't show the channel count. But that 192 Kbps stream must be 2-channel.
