So are you asking what happens when using HandBrake or when using ffmpeg?

Re: Can't compress because No Title Found

My main issue is debugging why a very small percentage of my source material is just failing in Handbrake when it plays perfectly in all of my media players. The goal is to fix why Handbrake isn't behaving robustly. Most (all?) HandBrake developers don't really have time for that and/or prefer to wo...

Yes, instead of stretching the faces vertically, you can cut them off at the top and bottom instead.

Well, by now, with all the new ObjC features implemented by Ritsuka, the Mac UI is more like penne rigate IMHO :-)

Re: Some AMD encodes fail but Intel work OK

Probably sub-optimal audio/video interleaving due to the audio or video track encoding faster than the other track on your AMD computer, is my best guess.

If you remux the output Matroska files with Mkvtoolnix, do you still get the hang?

Re: trying to get True-HD atmos to work

Handbrake is passing the TrueHD track to the output (along with the AC3 version MakeMKV created). Not terribly important, but MakeMKV doesn't create an AC3 track out of TrueHD. Every TrueHD track on a Blu-ray disc has an embedded AC3 track for backwards compatibility purposes (unlike DTS core + HD ...

Re: Reduce/shrink file time of a in video camera stream

HandBrake will succeed at reducing file size, but it won't automatically trim out segments without motion. Not sure what software, if any, would do that for you.

Just remux HandBrake's output with Mkvtoolnix and you'll get the data anyway ;-)

[16:03:11] gtkgui: HandBrake 1.3.3 (2021031800) - Linux x86_64 - https://handbrake.fr Build date suggests unofficial build. Official Manjaro repo probably linked HandBrake dynamically with their system libvpx, which is either too new or too old to work with HandBrake, and shipped it without ever bo...

Encode logs are required for individual support.
That won't change the duration nor the audio pitch.

Depends on which video encoder, filters, settings you use, and also what format your source video is in, etc.

Re: HandbrakeCLI on Ubuntu with Python Errors

On POSIX, if args is a string, the string is interpreted as the name or path of the program to execute. However, this can only be done if not passing arguments to the program. Note: It may not be obvious how to break a shell command into a sequence of arguments, especially in complex cases. shlex.s...

Re: 60fps H265 video stuttering on Roku Streaming Stick+

IIRC libx265 doesn't let us flag bitstreams as VFR like we do for same as source with libx264; we just set the framerate to that of the source without accounting for any filters, which is not ideal. Not sure how we could best work around it though.

Re: Handbrake crashes while using Libmmbd from Makemkv

Probably a side-effect of application sandboxing.

It might be possible to avoid the crash. I wonder if one can build libbluray with flags to disable libaacs and libbdplus support (which is what libmmbd emulates)?

That's already a lot, most of the encoding is actually done on a dedicated video encoding hardware chip that just happens to be on the GPU.
