Re: [Fixed] HB Won't Save My Audio Settings w/ Custom Presets

I'm finding that I need to configure the default AND match it in the Audio tab for it to save properly. Seems different than before. It is different when compared to version 0.9.x and earlier, because they didn't have a page to configure the defaults (basically they looked at the audio tab and trie...

Re: [Fixed] HB Won't Save My Audio Settings w/ Custom Presets

Well, you need to save the changes to your preset (by either selecting "save preset" if your GUI has such a facility, or creating a new preset after making the changes). We don't autosave presets, that would be a nightmare to use and/or support…

Yes. Though English is almost always angle 1 (for Star Wars DVDs, that is).

Re: DBZ ripped DVD shows Japanese episode TV and not the English title

DVD angles are often used for multi-language text overlays, e.g. the Star Wars intro segments.

Re: DBZ ripped DVD shows Japanese episode TV and not the English title

Check the angle drop-down, usually found next to the chapters/frames/seconds drop-down -- there may be more than one DVD angle for each title. Otherwise, the version with English lead-in might be found on another title with the same duration (check the title drop-down then).

Please detail your question or problem in as much detail as possible: I can not get HBCLI to recognize these two commands. start-at=duration:750:stop-at=duration:805 They're HandBrake options, not x265 options (BTW the start of your command line looks fine, not sure why you somehow stopped using co...

Re: Converting H.265 6K Photo files in full rez gives black frames

The 1080p presets are made to encode at 1080p resolution or lower. For 4K you need to adjust the H.264 level to 5.1 or higher (or set it to "Auto"). In addition, due to a limit on the number of 16x16 macroblocks on a per-frame basis (36,864 at level 5.2), the maximum resolution of a compliant H.264 ...

You're also using a rather short sample -- overall results may differ on a full-length feature.

From what I can remember - I think I selected GUID when I performed the install which makes me think that I should opt for 'Mac GUI'.
That's quite unrelated. Anyway, when in doubt, you want the graphical interface ;)

99% of Blu-rays out there are true CFR anyway, so same as source VFR is more than fine for BD. DVD is another story.

This is a known bug. The current version is not affected; HandBrake version 0.10.2 (which you're using), however, was released a little over 20 months ago.

Re: cannot encode at all avio error

-30 means the output location is read-only; do you have write permission to "/Volumes/Seagate Expansion Drive/Movies/Music & Lyrics/", and do all the folders in that path, all the way to Music & Lyrics, exist (HandBrake won't create them for you)?

Re: Unnecessary Downsampling of 96 kHz and 192 kHz Sources

We should add those samplerates eventually. Not sure about PCM passthru, but since it has no bitstream metadata (unlike Dolby and DTS codecs), FLAC works just fine to re-encode PCM.

Re: Ending up with best file size for DVD?

Also you should use VBV with a maxrate of about 15000 Kbps (15000 also works for the bufsize I guess), in order to not exceed read rates of a typical DVD drive.

Re: subtitle Burn-In

Yeah, this disc is just authored weird. Foreign Audio Search behaves normally, it's just that there's a track with packets flagged as forced, but in this case, not the right track at all. Not really something that can be worked around easily (or at all, TBH).

This is really relevant to me, but I find different behavior with the Forced than what Rodeo says. When I was trying to convert my movie, when the subtitles tab said "Foreign Audio Search", "Forced Only" checked, and "Burned In" checked, I got NO subtitles. When I used the same settings, except unc...

Re: True-HD/DTS-MA - Does Handbrake Transcode the Lossless Audio or the Lossy Core?

I see. So, when going from Dolby TrueHD to AC-3 @ 448kbps I'm starting with the lossless audio data. So, I'm not technically "transcoding" in that case as there would be no generational loss by reencoding a lossy track to another lossy codec. Erm, AC-3 is lossy, so there will be a loss. But you're ...
